it's so annoying seeing posts about Jewish culture—cutesy posts about fighting with g-d that appeal to Christian atheists' religious trauma, posts with Jewish music, posts with pictures of beautiful Jews—getting tens or even hundreds of thousands of notes, but the moment someone makes a post about antisemitism—about how it's built in to Western society, about how it's insidious and creeping, about how you've probably internalized it, about the difficulties we face and the grief we feel—they fail to break jumblr containment. Don't get me wrong, I love that goyim are celebrating Jewish culture as something beautiful and wonderful, but that can't be all we are to you. We're real people with real problems that you can't just ignore in favor of reblogging posts about bagels or whatever

A very disturbing number of people on here are like "Yeah, I support Jews! I just refuse to learn anything about Jewish history or culture even when it's extremely relevant to the conversation, I misuse Jewish terminology in the same way people who very openly wanted (or still want) to kill all Jews misused it, and I take everything about supporting or showing sympathy for Jews in bad faith! Antisemites DNI btw lol"

I never saw the word slop used except to refer to gross food (usually food produced to feed a lot of people very cheaply with little regard for flavor or nutrition, like in schools and prisons) and now it's literally everywhere and frankly, I find that very suspicious considering the combination of rising antisemitism, the spread of alt-right and far right terms through social media, and the existence of the word "goy-slop." I think we could all do to be more critical about the language that we use and we should really be asking ourselves where popular slang is actually coming from, who started saying those words in the first place and why.

And honestly, it would be considerably less suspicious if it was JUST the word slop but it's not. It's usually "[word]-slop" like het-slop or AI-slop and I cannot stress enough that that has very clear and blatant origins in antisemitic conspiracies about Jews poisoning the world. That may not be your intention when you use terms like that, but there is a reason why antisemites and other bigots try so hard to normalize their language and memes, because that helps them blend in and normalize their beliefs.
