And they give mic to people who speak about religion on stage, rather than what the protest is actually about. Have u seen the video of this woman going on stage and saying some song about allah and making the audience sing it?? What was the purpose of that?? It destroys the whole purpose. Yes the education minister should resign, the education system is fucked. But this protest is not going according to that. Many are misusing the platform. As I stated in my post (and the one linked to the post), I cannot support CJP but you know, as a student who is actually gonna give a competitive exam this year, I am scared. I am scared for my future, because guess what? I don't come from generational wealth. I am not rich enough to afford Law schools like Symbiosis and Jindal. And the thing is, I am very very very privileged, my family is able to put food on the table, send me to coaching AND afford to send me to a very good school, without going into debt. But not everyone is lucky or privileged enough to do that. Thousands of mothers sell their gold, take loans and go into debt just so that they can break the vicious cycle of poverty and give their children a chance and education they weren't given. I think you are focusing too much on the protests fault rather than focusing on what it represents. It represents youth fighting for their rights, it represents youth fighting for their fellow citizens who cannot, it is youth fighting for those who were killed by the Education system.
And guess what? Food vlogs?? Those represent hope to me, they show that even when you are on the street, you still have that whimsy, that humanity, the positivity to look at the brighter side in a very very dark time.
And you know what? As an agnostic, I don't give a damn if people sing about Allah, or Jesus or Ram or Buddha or Mahaveer because I am mature enough to know that there are times that hope can come in the form of religion. You need to believe that someone is writing something better for you when everything is going to shit. When your papers are getting leaked, your prep is being spat upon and then not getting jobs AFTER going through all this.
Also about Sonam Wangchuk, it was the government who branded him 'Anti-national'. It was the government who detained him without a reason. It is because of the lack of action taken by the Government. If none of these CJP protestors care about him, its fine. At least they are not harming him directly like the government. This protest was never about Sonam Wangchuk, it was always about Accountability and the Transparency that any democratically elected government owes to its people.

When I see reels about the Jantar Mantar protest, a part of me feels an inexplicable warmth and love towards my country, not the government not the judiciary but the people and my Generation to be exact. How long were we told that we are useless, always on our phones always just so fucking immature? That we didn't understand the world?
But turns out we aren't useless, we aren't immature and We understand the world so so much better than the adults in our life. And we aren't spineless.
Honestly, I don't give a damn if you are an Indian or not, I don't give a damn if you think if this affects you or not. Because a scientist and 3 other students have more spine than a whole fucking government. So I need you to spread this post or at least it's story. I need you to make this an international issue because nationally, the government can control the news internationally? Not really.
Sonam Wangchuk and 3 students taking part in the Jantar Mantar protest haven't eaten anything in 19 fucking Days because they are going on a hunger strike to protest for the removal of the India's Education Minister for his incompetence. In his tenure there have been 9 NATIONAL LEVEL PAPER LEAKS (of competitive exams that basically decide a child's future). The latest and the one that pushed everyone off the ledge was the NEET UG leak (NEET UG is a competitive exam which basically acts as a base for which college a child will go to bed on their marks. Children who don't get a seat in Government colleges have to pay an insane amount to attend private colleges) which has caused the suicide of 20 fucking students.
There are obviously more detailed posts about this but mine is to just give anyone reading this, a summary of the events. And while I still cannot support CJP (my reasons are in this post) this protest has gone far far beyond CJP and now literally deals with the actual citizens of the Country.

It was a historic occasion, one that was happening a hundred years too late, but it was happening. Sachin was excited about this test, perhaps more than he had been for test cricket in a long time. Smriti and Shefali were both playing, and he was rather excited to see them. He had hoped Pratika would play as well; she seemed so well suited for the format, and she reminded him so much of Rahul with her mannerisms. But Pratika was injured and wasn’t playing.
He had been asked to chat to the girls on day 3, just at the start of their second innings. Smriti and Shefali had both gotten a loving earful about playing rash shots before, and he didn’t want to overdo it. He congratulated Kranti on becoming the first woman on the honors board. He chatted to a few other players about their performances.
He was talking to Harman about the pitch when he felt his phone ping twice in his pocket. He excused himself after a minute; it was likely Rahul on the phone, whom he wanted to talk to anyway. Last night was the night of the ICC Annual Conference, and Sourav had been inducted into the Hall of Fame, way too late per Sachin, but he was told that he was biased (with which he vehemently disagreed).
“Who are you talking to?” Smriti asked him with that innocent smile. “Rahul, I’m texting,” Sachin said. He opened Rahul’s chat and started reading last night’s conversation about the annual conference. “Dada got inducted into the Hall of Fame na?” She asked. Sachin smiled, “Yeah, he did.” A certain pride filled Sachin’s chest as he said it. Sourav had taken an enormous number of hard decisions in his time as captain, and he had gotten a lot of slack for it. For it all to be acknowledged formally made Sachin happy for Sourav, even if Sourav didn’t care about any of it.
Shefali poked Smriti in the elbow and nodded towards Sachin. Smriti giggled slightly at Sachin smiling brightly at the mere mention of Sourav. She poked him in the arm. He blinked and turned his gaze to them. They burst out laughing, and Sachin couldn’t help but giggle along with them. “Don’t you have to warm up or what?” Sachin said, finally reading the text Rahul sent him.
His eyebrows raised, and his breath hitched at the picture. It was Sourav, in their apartment in Mumbai- his eyes were dazed, pupils blown up. The yellow lighting cast a halo-like glow around his face, his brown eyes shining so brightly they looked golden in the moment. He looked soft. His hair was mussed up, like Rahul had been grabbing it. His lips were saccharin red, the bottom one jutting out slightly as his mouth hung slightly open, gasping for air, likely. ‘Our Hall of Famer <3,’ Rahul had captioned it.
Sachin blinked hard.
Deep breath in, deep breath out.

You’re going home in two days. He told himself
Smriti stared at him with a concerned look. “All good?” She asked, slightly worried. “Why are you taking deep breaths?” Because I want to kiss Sourav until he can’t remember his name. He cannot say that. He cleared his throat. “Nothing.” He said. “What was in that photo?” Smriti asked. “Nothing,” Sachin said again, pulling the phone close to his chest. Smriti pouted at him, “Show naa!! Please.” Sachin shook his head. “It’s nothing re,” he said. Smriti huffed, feeling slightly defeated. She turned to Harman to lament. Sachin sighed in relief and looked at the photo again. Sourav looked ethereal. Sachin ran his thumb over Sourav’s cheek on the phone. All he wanted to do was pull Sourav’s hair and claim those lips…”MMrphhh-” He heard a loud snort at his shoulder. He immediately turned back, horrified.
It was Shefali, trying very hard not to laugh but hiding her face in her hands. “Shefali.” He stated, blinking hard. She tried to compose herself by peeking through her fingers, but immediately burst into giggles. Sachin was blushing. Shefali noted when she peeked again before laughing about the blush. “Shefali Verma,” Sachin said, seriously. She tore her face from her hands and looked at him finally. She was still grinning ear to ear. “Not a word to anyone,” Sachin said. He had meant to look threatening, but the blush was making it hard. Shefali nodded. “You will not tell anyone,” he said. Shefali nodded again, letting a laugh slip. “Not even Renuka,” Sachin told her for good measure. Shefali snorted, “I will not say.”
Sachin huffed, rubbing a palm over his face. He saw Shefali go up to Smriti. “What was in the photo?” He heard Smriti ask. He pretended to look at his phone. Shefali looked at him and controlled her laughter. “Don’t worry about it.” Smriti huffed, “Shaifu!!” Shefali shook her head again, saying something Sachin didn’t hear.
“Rahul, you-” Sachin took a deep breath. He looked up to the sky for guidance, and when no one answered his calls, he closed his eyes for a minute. He opened them and was greeted with the Lord’s balcony of all things.

What's actually really disgusting is the comments you will find on any and i truly sadly mean any news post that has shared whatever's true. Just found out that the McCullum leaked story was only leaked by 90mins (1.5hrs) and that the embargo had been set and everyone else still followed it to the time they were allowed to announce it.
Meaning that the ECB didn’t announce early to stop the leak, they always intended to announce McCullum’s sacking in the middle of the women’s Test.
Fuckers. Way to show the women’s game any sort of respect after announcements all summer have overshadowed it.
If you don’t want the women’s game to grow, don’t give it bullshit lip service that you do.
