Commerce is such a freak accident istg. It’s not a science, it's not a liberal art or social science entirely either. It’s a random fucking middle child that no one asked for but actually it runs the fuckin world before science and arts. It’s why people think business majors are insufferable and MBA's ruin everything. It’s cruel, it's villainous, it runs the world. People forget how old commerce is- barter system my guy? yea that's commerce before people studied the sun or languge they gave they're neighbor milk and got carrot seeds for it. Commerce is THE brain child of brains that only want to preserve themselves and it's never benefitted anyone other than the ones who worked for it. Commerce corrupts and it corrupts absolutely because Commerce is absolute power. The person who controls Commerce can bring down the kingdom faster than the person who controls food or medicine. Because the person who controls food and starve people, but people can farm, people can ration. The person who controls medicine can spread an infection but people will wear a mask, science will find a vaccine. But Commerce can do it with pretty packaging, and oh boy, does pretty packaging get people faster than they can say 'wait what-'
