I should start adding real backgrounds to photos

 Today was my birthday, or well yesterday, and I asked for a intuos drawing tablet.

Trees (although honestly it does stray from Trees and sort of  goes about Mysterious of the Forest here I guess.)

All together, they were like a solid wall that refused to fall. Thick, rough, brown armor surrounded them while they stood tall. Like knights protecting whatever lay inside it's walls, from the man-made forces that lay in front it. They held a sort of mysterious beauty, one you'd rather watch from afar rather then risk approach. But, that was what we were about to do right this moment, against my better judgement.

 "You ready to go, kiddo?"

I turned my head slightly, to gaze upon my elder brother. A bright grin was on his face as he held one arm wrapped around his girlfriend. Instead of responding, I nodded while pulling the grey scarf around my mouth tighter. He wasn't fazed by behavior, and instead grabbed my hand in his free one as we began to walk. We took the one solitary path that disappeared into the shade of the trees only ten feet in.

"You know, my favorite season is winter," his girl friend stated out of the blue, and she leaned forward to look at me, past my brother. "What's yours Darius?"

I looked over at her, before I turned my head away to continue browsing our surroundings. "Summer."

A small laugh escaped her lips, as she turned her sights to my brother again. "I should've expected that, hm? Typical teen he is, isn't he?"

"Except that he still lets his big brother hold his hand."

A small sneer plastered itself on my face, and I quickly tugged my hand away. "You really didn't leave a choice for decision."

I tried to fit more of the bottom half of my face into my scarf as laughter erupted from both of them. It continued like this for a few more minutes, they talked amongst themselves, occasionally including me. Most of the time when I was included, it ended with me being teased, so in no time at all I was trailing them from behind instead. The air around us seemed to drop a few degrees, and as we kept walking the snow seemed to get deeper. When I lifted my head to see if either of them noticed, I noticed they were more ahead of me then I thought. I struggled to catch up to them through all the snow, it kept weighing me down, while it looked like it didn't affect them at all.

"Doesn't the snow seem deeper then usual?" I questioned, breathing deeper from the exertion.

My brother barely paid me any mind other then a head shake - this was extremely odd, I was usually always the center of his attention. I sighed in irritation, and gripped onto the back of his jacket so they wouldn't get so ahead of me again. It was minutes more of struggling against the snow until I heard a soft, muted crunch. I stopped and looked over my shoulder, barely acknowledging my brother's jacket slipping from my hands. There was a deep indent in the snow next to a tree. Suddenly it was much easier as I made my way to the indent, and straying from some invisible path proved difficult. There was nothing there, just a small patch of grass, and I sighed in disappointment and turned around again.

"What the hell?"

The path wasn't there anymore, neither was my brother or his girlfriend. There were just more trees, looming high above me, the leaves swaying in a nonexistent wind. A shudder ripped through me, and I stepped forward while I strained my ears to listen for them talking. There was nothing, only an unnerving silence. Soon enough I was scrambling forward blindly away from another crunch that had sounded behind me. I tried heading in the direction I think we were heading before, but the surrounding all looked the same. It could have been minutes or hours I walked, I can't tell, all I knew was that the cold and wet was setting in quick. Cupping my hands around my mouth to breath on them, I shuffled over to a tree that had a few low hanging branches. I gazed up at it, as I wrapped my hands around one of the branches, and broke it off.

"Sorry." I breathed, continuing to break a few branches. There was a gust of breath next to my ear and I whirled around.

There was nothing there, but when I looked down at the snow there were indents. Two sets of indents, that looked strangely like footsteps. A small curse slipped past my lips as I sunk to the ground, with my back still pressed against the trees. I began forming the sticks the way they taught us at camp, and felt around in my pockets. It was quickly, and I slipped the lighter back into my pockets as I pulled my legs to my chest. My eyelids grew heavily, despite the fact that I was wide away, and against my better will they drifted close. Another crunch faded into the distance.

"I'm serious, we don't know what you're talking about Darius." my brother said again, his face creased in concern.

His girlfriend nodded in agreement. "We just turned around and you were passed out. God, we're so sorry!"
