And if you play as Astarion, you're given unique dialogue options to compare Mizora and Cazador and urge Wyll away from being passive in response of how she abuses him. Astarion needs someone to teach him how to empathize with others, and Wyll needs someone to teach him to fight for himself as much as he does for others. They complete each other!"

Halsin, the patient man he was, didn't interrupt or rush him as Sofócrono gathered his thoughts, calmly looking up to his face.

"Shit." Sofócrono cursed, sinking a bit against the tree they were under. "I... think that's why I'm comfortable with you."

Comfortable.

"I don't fear hurting you, not really." It was so obvious, thinking of it, Sofócrono couldn't believe he hadn't realized it before. Beyond being attracted to him, beyond understanding each other well enough to be good friends, this relationship would've never come to be weren't it for the fact that "I could never defeat you in a fight."

Whatever Halsin had been expecting up to that point, Sofócrono's words came to him as a disappointment. He tried not to show it, not without processing it first, but his face betrayed him before he could do anything about it.

Karlach/Wyll

"I mean, those two are almost implied in the Blade of Avernus, Karlach and Wyll traversing hells together ending. Karlach's dialogue about doing this with someone she loves is both in romanced Karlach ending, and if she's just with Wyll! Karlach was my first romance, and when I saw a non-romanced Karlach and Wyll epilogue for the first time, I just felt such a "it should've been me! Not him!" feeling that it's hard to say there's nothing there. Also, Karlach has been through tough times. She deserves a fairytale prince to sweep her off her feet - what companion doesn't, really, but still. Also, Karlach will stand up for Wyll when he gets too self-sacrificing, I'm sure of that, and he deserves that, too. They're dear to each other, is all I know, and they'd be good together. After they get out of Avernus, I'm sure they could have a good, comfortable life in Baldur's Gate, adventuring, and when needing a break, having a nice house in the upper city to belong to."

vs. Karlach/Lae'zel

The Bhaalspawns are still being plagued by the Urges and terrible nightmares they don't understand. Even if they don't remember their common past, Syryth and Carmen can feel they are drawn to one another.
