Game of Thrones consistently punished it’s female characters for being innocent, naive, tender, hopeful, or romantic, in a way that the books even did not. I always assumed the story would end with some kind of vindication for the women who had their tenderness basically ripped away from them at every turn, that they would ultimately change the brutal nature of their world through their own courage and experience. But no, even in the final season it’s like they were punished for having any softness right up to the end.

You know what could've got me through this quarantine? A Game of Thrones marathon. But then I remembered it sucked.
