i've died on smaller hills, so i can't judge. but i do think it's funny whenever posts about the proper definition of a poor little meow meow circulate, considering none of them mention that the origin was a kpop fan's absolutely bonkers tweet about not being able to protect a full grown man who was getting backlash for including audio from the jonestown cult leader jim jones in one of his songs

Why should I have an obligation and responsiblity for the people around me? As long as I am not making my presence a nuisance why shouldn't I be allowed to not give a fuck about strangers? Especially when the vast majority of them would take (and historically have taken) advantage of me were I to take such a stance.

He's talking about the social contract we all share. You not being a nuisance is part of that. Not yelling at a cashier or blasting your music in public is part of that. Listening to your friends or family about something affecting them and not complaining that it's "trauma dumping" or "emotional labor" is part of that. Basic common courtesy, when it really comes down to it. That's the obligation. Not acting like you're the main character and nobody else's feelings matter.

I love how Lara Croft's first instinct when coming across a sarcophagus is to immediately open it and then magically gain ancient knowledge. I bet no one invites her to funerals anymore because every time they try to lower the coffin, she just shows up and opens it, suddenly becoming proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Y'all for real please do these. Even if you're certain your posture doesn't suck. One day you will wake up with impinged shoulder pain like I did and let me tell you it fucking HURTS. Do these exercises even just once a week and it will make such a difference. Especially my fellow creatives out there, stop shrimping over your work and go do these right now. RIGHT NOW.

Also, if you’re even a little concerned about getting a hump or having trouble standing fully upright in your old age, this is how you prevent that. If you want to be up and about when you’re old you have to start when you’re younger. And keep in mind there is no bad time to start and it’s never too late. Starting today is way better than never starting at all.
