jmart isn’t even that toxic 💔 the most toxic part of their relationship happened BEFORE they were even in a romantic relationship . at the beginning of season ONE okay. im not saying jon was in the right for constantly belittling martin & verbally abusing him and stalking him & the others okay i am saying that NONE of that happened while they were in a relationship with each other. OKAY. martin slapped him once WHILE they were in a relationship and i don’t agree that he should have done that but like he did kind of have to to wake jon up idk Idk even when they’re like going on their ‘murderous rampage’ in season 5 it’s not even that toxic. they just argue like any normal couple does. Guys did u know that normal couples argue and get annoyed with each other from time to time .

season 5 jmart is the healthiest they’ve been with each other tbh like they do still have all their issues yeah and jon has a crazy inferiority complex and thinks the end of the world is all his fault and he needs to be the one to fully end the world but like he and martin are in a pretty damn healthy relationship considering they’re wading through the apocalypse

REAL toxicity is jontim . guarantee if tim had made it to season 5 w jon instead of martin we’d see a truly toxic relationship between the two 💜 regardless they’re all suicidal and stupid . i think there r definitely toxic ass relationships u can pick out from tma but jmart is honestly not one of them , coming from someone who’s been in 2 separate toxic romantic relationships (this is my qualification these are my qualifications okay i know what im talking about) . These guys have literally had way more toxic friendships & workplace relationships than they have had bad interactions between one another while in a romantic relationship

another issue with his interpretations was that he had turned the other characters into these like. 2 dimensional versions of themselves whose entire personalities and existences relied on jon when they very much can stand by themselves. my biggest issue though is the fact that he saw sasha as just the more responsible version of jon and nothing more and whenever he talked abt sasha it was only in connection to jon . his takes on gertrude were also bad #tbh

speaking of gertrude, every time i listen again to her episodes i just appreciate her so much more like wow girl. u were doing what u had to! i wonder if she had some sense of foresight though in regard to what she did to gerry. like it’s still fucked but i can understand it to a degree. i’ve seen a lot of people hating on her in the past bc she sacrificed michael & stood by when her other assistants were busy killing each other until she had to take out the last one , but like. as we’ve seen with jon it is pretty damn hard to keep other people around you alive and as dangerous as it is to be Alone it’s arguably. a good choice . also, Somebody had to be sacrificed to the spiral from her perspective to stop their ritual; she was just doing what she thought she needed to. and if not him, then someone else. gertrude has a very utilitarian view and way of dealing w/ the fears which i also appreciate very much . bless her soul
