One, I know there has been an unsurprisingly common sentiment going around about missing when IWTV used to be more black and honestly I couldn't agree more. It's killing me, truly.

The pilot and the whole two seasons before tvl were mind blowingly enjoyable and there were a lot of subjects discussed that portrayed the 'dynamic family' that nearly all of the world considers to be the right way of life. The racism, abuse and infidelity etc were explored, for a lack of imagination currently, very well.

The first episode of tvl just did not have that grasp on me and a lot of people I know felt likewise.

Two, while I understand that this is quite literally Lestat's season, and it is supposed to be this campy but I can't say I don't miss the gothic dark vibes from the first season.

Also the way they are exploring the incest plotline is alright? It's not the greatest, especially not compared to how they explored Louis' struggles. It's sort of a step down. Obviously I haven't watched the full season so I cannot form a solid opinion but so far a lot has been left to be desired. Some parts even feel a little fanficy (and I understand that's sort of the point but holy shit, the use of modern lingo has really ruined the dialogue. I mean wtf was up with that p-diddler line??)

I'm not saying the show is racist now but the intricacies they used in the last few seasons, especially the first one seem to be sadly absent. Also also also I see this season was supposed to be an antithesis of Louis' interpretation of Lestat but other than being less reserved, I can't say Louis' recollection was unfaithful to how lestat actually is at all.

I don't care about bum Daniel enough to mention his plotline lmfao but the friendship between him and louis reminds me of toxic codependent female friendships where they talk shit on each other and are also each other's fiercest ride or dies, but him obliterating Lestat and Armand in ep 4 was very enjoyable.

The Regina thing probably needs another blog post so I'll keep hush hush on that until the seasons over and if I feel like I need to talk about it, I'll spill. That last moment with Louis and Regina made my heart jump out and do a run around my room.

Yeahh I see what you mean about the flirting I was mostly joking, though I do like to delude myself. I just cannot believe their most charged moment was after(!!) the divorce 😭😭 their whole relationship was so stale in the first two seasons with the exception of a couple of scenes so I didn't care much for loumand but that tvl ep 1 scene has me pulling up post-divorce fics.

As for the matter of attractiveness, everyone is entitled to their (wrong🙄🙄) opinions.

Loumand post divorce flirting is so crazy because aesthetically speaking, they are the most attractive couple in the show. I mean I'm still a loustat truther buttt

I cannot believe that Lestat did not have Louis' initials stitched into his pocket. Holy shit just put a bullet through my forehead man, fuck me while you're at it too because why not.

On a more serious note, there's a fair ton of discourse calling Lestat a liar and while he isn't my most favourite vampire, it doesn't seem like this is something he'd lie about.

I mean of course it was sweet but Dreamstat was just that. Dreamstat. Louis craves love but he doesn't want to give it.

Also unfortunately I did lose the edit it seems to have been deleted (the one that originally got me interested in the viper series) but @kadescigarettes on TikTok make really good edits for Marcus and Preston. Other than that I like @queensteelvs (on tiktok) for her hunt the villain stuff.

I'll be very 100% honest, I have seen wonderful wonderful work from many creators in this fandom but I do not follow the creators of those edits because most often they are just one shots or get deleted fast. Hence I am not able to give you an extensive list.
