Right now two bozos are raiding cookie run servers and spamming shit and saying slurs

I reccomed you block the following two discord users to avoid them gaining access to your servers

1) the highly aggressive gatekeeping (this primarily happens with white choco and how people start yelling lesbophobia when you don’t agree with a head canon)

2) the amount of people saying canonly nb cookies are cis (i’ve seen this a lot with cookies like dj squid ink and peppermint. if you use binary pronouns for them but you still acknowledge they’re nb, then ur good. don’t insist nb cookies are cis or ur just being transphobic)

3) how fast drama and wars can start (one (1) popular cr rp blog said they don’t support mogai, and all the mogai cr fans (myself included) and mogai supporters got upset and up in arms over it, and don’t even get me started on the mt he/him lesbian chaos)

kiida has been known for, and i’m saying this bluntly, being a dick.

he has left a discord server in shambles (deleting half the emojis, roles, and server icon), accused someone of playing the victim when they tried to explain why kiida was kicked from the server

and as a recent strike, as a previous mod on bokunoaesthetics, before he left he deleted every post from the blog, replaced the icon, and locked the blog itself with no warning whatsoever

Hey hey hey hey hey. Calm down! Yes, it was approved. No, I don’t think it’s a good thing. But there’s some misinformation spreading, so here are a few things, specifically about Article 13:

1) Fair Use is still a thing. None of the things ppl are saying will become illegal will become illegal.

2.) What the law would mean is that the RESPONSIBILITY for posting material that is in violation of copyright goes from the users to the platforms. That means that if someone reposted my drawing on let’s say Instagram, I could sue Instagram for letting that happen.

3.) This would mean that platforms will have to implement something similar to what Youtube and Twitch are already doing; an algorithm to block/catch copyrighted content.

4) BUT because Fair Use is still a thing, those algorithms will have to be paired with an appeal system, like the one on YT. Because the algorithms will probably be bad at catching content that isn’t in violation of copyright law, such as parodies etc.

5) Now, as we’ve seen on Youtube, the algorithms are not good at this fair use thing, and stuff like reviews become targeted by them all the time. This is why I think the law is ultimately going to be doing more harm than good.

6) NOTHING IS BECOMING ILLEGAL IN TERMS OF CONTENT. PLATFORMS IGNORING COPYRIGHT VIOLATION IS.

7) If companies give their consent to using, for example, their games in let’s plays etc., it’s still perfectly legal to post those (just like before). Most game companies, like EA has given blanket permission to post about their games online. This includes let’s plays. (Nintendo is like the only one that hasn’t, and only approved creators may post for example Zelda let’s plays, that’s been a thing on YT for ages)

8) Again, TRANSFORMATIVE WORKS ARE PROTECTED. You can still post those. There’s just probably going to be some extra steps in doing that, because algorithms suck. Like having to make an appeal if your content is transformative etc. this includes memes (if you aren’t just reposting), simblrs, fan art, fanfiction, parodies, reviews, etc.

9) How this will be handled will ultimately be up to the various platforms. They will choose the option that saves them most money. They don’t want to risk getting sued, so they’ll probably implement an algorithm to catch illegal content. WORST CASE scenario (which is unlikely) is that some platforms decide they don’t want to deal with this law and blocks their services from ppl in the EU. It’s possible, but probably won’t save them money in the long run. So. Algorithms.

THIS WILL NOT AFFECT NON PROFIT SITES (Wikipedia etc.), OPEN SOURCE SITES (Github etc.), NON PROFIT EDUCATIONAL REPOSITORIES, AND CLOUD SERVICES.

ALSO ARTICLE 11 DOES NOT CONCERN INDIVIDUALS. It would mean that news sources would be able to collect licensing fees from social media platforms that allow links from news sources, IF THE LINK INCLUDES A PREVIEW (like most sites include now) OR THE TITLE OF THE ARTICLE ETC. The law does not mean that individuals have to pay news sources to post links.

Looks like someone’s been tracing my art and posting it to Google Plus.

Their Google Plus accounts can be found [here] and [here]. (Be careful, there’s some censored nsfw there.) I’ve already filed a report with Google Plus, and I would have filed a report with Tumblr but it seems as if there’s none of this artwork on their tumblr account (which can be found [here]).

I’m really upset and disappointed about this but I’ve dealt with this person before in terms of copying character design and it seems like they just don’t stop. So I was hoping to bring some light to it.

Things have not gotten better and in fact I would say that they’re beginning to get worse. Here are two more “new” pieces that have been brought to my attention.

This makes for a total of eight so far.

I’ve also learned that this person is doing commissions on an Objects Head Amino and I fear the worse: they may be tracing my art or the art of others, and making money off of it.

Ironic, huh?

They traced an art I made about the fact they’ve been tracing my art.

I’m not going to stop adding to this post and the longer it gets just further proves my point. It’s ridiculous that this continues to happen and I’m doing everything I can to look into getting it shut down and stopped for good.

that-one-darkness-dad is the current url of the tracer. They’ve made it so access to their blog is limited to the dashboard so permalinks to their blog may not work.

With this said, I am all for giving someone the benefit of the doubt if styles do happen to look similar. However, when there’s empirical evidence to the contrary when there’s far too much in common where it looks like an exact copy- line for line- then there is no doubt to be had. Something has to be done to stop it.

An apology does little when one denies the allegations to these obvious actions of plagiarism which can ruin professional repertoire on both sides which can cause catastrophic damage if either artist depends on their works for a living, be it through professional works or through free-lance independent professionalism through patreon support. These aren’t the sorts of things that go away over time either, the effects of this can last for much longer, even linger for years after.

It needs to be said how much that something like this can damage both the person responsible for the tracing as well as the original source. It had to be said so that appropriate action can be taken. And no, I will not speak for things that do little to aid in stopping plagiarism, but instead only lead to more problems: bullying, hate-mail, and hurtful call outs will only cause more harm than good.

Don’t be a jerk, don’t be that person, report the art and act like a civil human being concerned for the original content creator. Don’t be another problem, be someone that resolves it.

I got a notif today that someone under the url op-is-/a-te/rfas/cist (without the slashes) reblogged my fuschia Lanque post. However I couldn’t see what they said since their blog is flagged as sensitive sooooo I made an alt account that let me turn safe mode off. I found out that it’s definitely LALT and that they deleted their reblog, stole the sprite, and made a post of their own with it instead
