Unofficial synopsis for Riginarazione

Oh no. Gina is sad. Oh no. From what I can tell she and Roland have barely interacted much in the last decade and a half.

As others have pointed out: Marinette has known this guy for a few busy months of her entire life. It's clear this is meant to teach her about loss but it's such a tertiary interaction that 🤷.

I mean.. Heartfixer's design gives barely anything. I'm not saying the design is ugly and awful, it's just... nothing to fawn over like this tbh. Why do Marinette fans insist on having no standards and satisfy themselves with the barest minimum? This happens every time Marinette gets any kind of new suit, no matter how ugly or bare bones. Cause it's MARINETTE who's wearing it, so it must be glazed, even though they SHOULD be asking for Marinette to be given better. This mindless glazing feels like the exact reason why the show designers and writers DONT do better. Because they know they don't have to put in any actual effort because Marinette stans will settle for anything as long as it can somehow be twisted into tunnel-visioned glazing.

Not to mention that akuma victims give themselves their name and design, so Lila had nothing to do with Marinette matching her Butterfly astral form. That was Marinette's decision. Lila is not a lesbian for this, and she isn't one for cuddling up with her like that, during the akumatization, either. Lila has been touchy with all kinds of people and Marinette clearly wants to be cuddled, pitied, and given an easy out, no matter who offers it.

Saying all of this is just Lila being a lesbian misses the point of the akuma victims having agency in how they look and what their power is, and that Lila is a master manipulator who will adjust her approach to her victims' desires and needs.

It also feels very familiar in the way it "coincidentally" absolves Marinette of almost all blame and agency in this. It's not Marinette giving into the Butterfly the moment they give her the cuddles, validation, and easy solution she wants to have, it's Lila being a creepy lesbian who's preying upon innocent little Marinette.

It's interesting how Marinette fans act like it's unfathomable to them that Lila might not be a hard core lesbian for Marinette, but instead that Marinette may be the foe Lila wants to crush and defeat, but at the end of the day doesn't care about one bit. That Marinette too is just used as object and means to an end, the way Lila already did it in Revelation.

Yeah, like, my mutual, @infinitysgrace compared the Akumanette’s design to the untransformed Magic Heroez (the "heroez" tag is a lie it's just all Marinette) toys. Like, it’s not much different and people going “OMG, Lila is clearly a lesbian for Marinette for making her so GORGEOUS” is desperate glazing, OBVIOUSLY. Why are they clapping and cheering and why does it look like these two got married and exited a chapel, what is going on???

And you know why I'm saying this is the case? Because ALYA was very explicitly written to put THAT much weight into Adrien's words and perspective.

ALYA knew that for Adrien to claim such things and act the way he did, he HAD to actually have seen something legit. She broke up with Nino over this because ALYA knows Adrien wouldn't act like this without reason. And she was fucking RIGHT!

But Nino and especially Marinette were too hung up on the fact that they're being questioned at all to even just attempt to get to the bottom of this obvious setup. And I mean OBVIOUS SETUP.

Because the episode later on treats it that way. Adrien puts the suspicious nature of the contradiction of Marinette having been at two places at the same time very quickly together. Literally all it took for Adrien was to speak to Prem who told him, no, he wasn't in ancient Greek class and shows him a video that shows him and Marinette having been in the Garden.

Adrien doesn't call Prem a liar and manipulator, he simply quickly realizes that there's an obvious contradiction about Prem, too, so Adrien ACTS on that, even if he doesn't understand yet what is going on.

We didn't do detective work here, Adrien just needed to be given SOMETHING. Any legit indicator that the worst case scenario he thought to be true WASN'T actually happening. He also wasn't too prideful or anxious about what lasting damage his relationship with Marinette and Alya and Nino might suffer from if he turns out to be WRONG for having broken up with Marinette (and accusing Nino too of having cheated). It meant too much for him to let that stop him, so he immediately runs back to find out the truth and set things as right as possible again. He's the anti-Marinette. THAT'S WHY the episode has a happy ending. Because Adrien ISNT acting like his girlfriend (and best friend).

This whole situation could have been solved immediately if Marinette had said "I was in the Garden, ask Prem" then Adrien would have worst case scenario replied that she's lying, Prem was in ancient Greek class too and at that point they would have dragged Prem into this to clear things up. It wouldn't even have mattered if one of the Bitch Boy Bullies had still pretended to be Prem, because even if that had happened then MARINETTE would have known that, worst case scenario, PREM is a two-faced piece of shit who maliciously messed with Adrinette and DjWifi!

PREM was the easy common denominator in this that CIVILIAN LADYBUG should have catched up to to solve this case, but didn't. Civilian Chat Noir instead had to push through being the preyed upon victim here and do it for her (and Nino, let's not forget about Nino. He ain't getting a pass)

"But Chrysalis is making her d-"

No. Chrysalis is picking up on patterns of behaviour and uses it against you. She's not magically making you act in a way that doesn't come naturally to you to some serious degree.

And Marinette and Nino never even tried getting to the bottom of this and that's the problem here. It is shocking to watch that Alya puts so much weight into Adrien's perception of reality and Marinette and Nino just.. don't.

Marinette in particular here is... focused on nothing but Adrien having denied and rejected her out of heartbreak. She doesn't care why, she doesn't know her boyfriend as well as ALYA DOES to understand that something HAD to have happened, and everything about her breakdown was about nothing but having lost his love in general and that she wants it back.

Adrien, the second he gets actual proof that something highly suspicious is happening here, immediately starts acting like civilian Chat Noir should. NOT disregarding the glaring contradiction because he's gotten his heart broken, and stepping into action to communicate to be able to find out what the hell is going on.

Marinette on the other hand? Nothing. No civilian Ladybug here. Her boyfriend can crash out over something bad she and Nino (as Adrien's girlfriend and best friend) BOTH know can't possibly have happened and she only cares about not getting unconditional love and trust anymore.

When Marinette thinks she found Adrien crying in a room, she tries touching his shoulder, but "he" slightly shakes her hand off without ever stopping to cry into his hands. The Adrien she saw was HEARTBROKEN and all she says is "Why won't you believe me anymore?"

This is insane. Girl, is that all you care about? That you're not getting unconditional love and trust? That you're being asked to put your feelings aside for a hot sec (the way Adrichat always has to and did so HERE too) and see right in front of you that something is WRONG with Adrien because whatever he saw clearly is HURTING him?? You really made ZERO progress since Glaciator 2, huh?

And yeah, Marinette not being able to handle that she isn't getting unconditional love and trust IS the problem here. It's ALWAYS Adrien in this relationship who needs to over and over again prove everything to her, but Marinette doesn't want to do it in return. She got and still gets this relationship served to her on a silver plate by Adrien doing all the serious and fundamental emotional labour, so no shit Marinette here can't handle Adrien NEEDING something from her. NEEDING her to step the hell up as his girlfriend when HE'S getting preyed upon and messed with. She can falter and doubt him however the hell she wants, but don't ask her to take a fraction of what she herself dishes out, I guess.

Adrien is not allowed to be preyed upon because Marinette wants this relationship easily and unconditionally. It's why she didn't even try to fight the akumatization as we have over and over again seen is rather easy to do. At the very least STRUGGLING is easy enough.

But she heard that she can easily MAKE Adrien love her and that was more appealing than thinking beyond her own feelings in this or proving that she didn't do the thing he thinks he saw her doing that CLEARLY BROKE HIS HEART BECAUSE HE LOVES HER!

The Adrien she saw here was heartbroken and crying because he was that BROKEN over it. He wasn't screaming at her, hitting her, or turned into a nasty bully. He was silently crying and slightly shook off her hand because he felt vulnerable over seemingly having been cheated on and lied to by the person he trusted and loved most.

The fact that Marinette saw nothing here that was worth fighting for to prove the truth of her innocence and that HE hasn't lost HER is insane.

How much more workable did she need him to be here? All she needed to do was taking him seriously the way ALYA did. Can she really never be written to do that? Can she really not handle anything but unconditional love and trust she has to basically do nothing for to be given and keep?

This isn't even the first time something like this happened. Literally the same thing happened in season 5 when she rebounded on Chat Noir because she wanted easy unconditional love and when Adrichat in Elation comes to his senses about kissing civilian Marinette and tells her "No", she crashed out on him, disregarded his feelings, and both of her akumatizations here were about forcing him to love her when he said "no". Also, both akumatization had to be prevented/ stopped by Adrichat doing all the work for her and giving her whatever unconditional thing she wanted from him in the first place.

That is such a nasty pattern. Adrichat always has to do all the emotional work because Marinette doesn't wanna do any and can only function in the love square when she's unconditionally given whatever she wants just because she wants it easy and done FOR HER.

This is such a serious and deeply consistent problem. Adrichat can be messed with right in front of her eyes and she's completely blind to it because he stopped doing the work for her in their dynamic.

If there's anything this episode proved, is that the only reason why Adrien isn't easy-picking for Cerise is because HE is too smart and able to look beyond his feelings, no matter how hurt he is, for her to get him in any lasting way.

Adrichat has been heavy-lifting the entire love square ever since season God damn 4. MARIBUG is the weak link by now who never improves from her shortcomings. Maybe SHE should work on that and not HIM for her or him not being allowed to ever be a victim that NEEDS something from her when HE dares faltering? Just an idea. Maybe we should give that a try.

I thought a low-bun would be better, as it keeps the top of her head from being too busy when she puts the tiara on.

I also added a blue variant to reference her learning about the connection between Adrien’s family and the peacock miraculous.

Cerise (or whatever) is a girl, too, so that's still this show's type of feminist, right? 😇

At least when Adrien outsmarted Lila in 'Ladybug' and Lila got to see that Adrien had some edge to him, she actually seemed more into him. She liked knowing more than the shallow shell.

This episode is just bad in general, but it BAFFLES me how the general idea is that Marinette was just so horribly mistreated. Yes, it's easy to disprove Lila, but Marinette made herself look HORRIBLE.

To the outside eye, it looks like Marinette is just throwing a petty tantrum over not getting to sit next to Adrien for a period, when there literally was the WHOLE day to see him and breathe in his essence or whatever. Lila reinforces this even more by saying that she's causing problems and guiltripping the class. Honestly, Marinette sitting in the back after that was deserved.

Then the lunch scene. This whole thing could have been avoided if Marinette exposed Lila as LADYBUG. Go tell Alya she is not friends with the girl, it's not hard to guess from there the chance of her other tales being false. She then proceeds to throw a NAPKIN at a PERSON WITH AN ALLEGED WRIST INJURY. Lila hasn't even targeted Marinette in any way this far, Marinette makes herself look like a jealous brat. Why didn't she tell Alya and Nino Lila stole Adrien's book? That would immediately make them more wary of her.

Then in the bathroom, Marinette's the one who starts the threatening. WHY couldn't she just say something like "I'm not being friends with a deceiver. Why are you lying?" She's just making herself an enemy this whole episode. Lila's just fighting fire with fire if you ask me.

As for Adrien, i honestly don't understand what he did that was so wrong. From his perspective Lila was lying for attention, which is not the end of the world. He was willing to be her friend and help her. As soon as he saw that she was actually maliciously deceptive in Oni Chan he started avoiding her. It's thanks to him Marinette is still in school.

Half of the conflicts can be solved easily had Alya, the so-called best friend of Marinette, had talked to her about the seat arrangement.

Why not send Nino back there? Why not send Adrien? Why not send both of them? Why not send yourself? Why not send both of you? Why not send Alix and Mylene? Why only send Mari, your own best friend, without informing her and get her consent? Lila said she has hearing issue, so she just need to be in the front seat. Alya rearranged everyone's seat without informing THE class rep. Not even a text or a call iirc, is that too much?

Heck, Alya is fully aware of how insane Mari is regarding Adrien, was that not a factor to be thought about?

Why didn't Alya talk to Marinette about the seating arrangement?

Because Alya wasn't the one responsible. Ms. Bustier was responsible of starting the entire seat change arrangement because she was trying to accommodate the new student.

Because Marinette wasn't there. She was late and arrived after everyone already changed seats, hence why she only had the seat in the back left. Nobody else was sent to the back because they were on time and so got to voice their opinion on what seat they wanted, unlike Marinette.

Because saying that it's Alya's responsibility to prevent Marinette from acting like a crazy person by bending over backwards just so poor widdle Marinette won't have to feel jealous that someone else is sitting next to her property future boyfriend is the same bullshit that all those Marinette apologist say. God forbid we expect Marinette to be responsible for her own emotions and behaviour. Clearly it's everyone else's fault that they simply don't coddle her enough, how cruel of them.

Alya and Adrien saw the tail end of it we don't know how much they objected to isolating the bullying victim again, so they come off the less bad. Especially Adrien, as he's the most socially challenged and apparently figured out he screwed up first.

Almost the rest of the class were there as Chloé originally destroyed Marinette's confidence. They should have known better than let it happen.

Chloé, Sabrina, and Kim were the bullies. Aside for Kim, who isn't the smartest guy around, they knew EXACTLY what was happening. And did nothing.

Finally there's Mme Bustier, who, as the teacher, should have vetoed it. But instead allowed it.

And Lila ironically comes off almost clean out of all this, as not only she was almost certainly unaware of everything that happened in the past but to her this was intended as a warning to try and get Marinette to stop hounding her, a demonstration of what she could do to her before making her peace offering.

Marinette having been bullied by Chloe doesn't mean the entire world is obligated to bend over backwards to put her feelings as a priority in every situation ever. If she was stuck sitting next to Chloe I may be willing to consider it, if it would enable Chloe to target her more.

But you're talking about sitting in the back alone as if that's some kind of unfair punishment to her specifically, when the truth is that someone in class had to sit there (but I guess the other kids getting "isolated" is fine because they're not Marinette?) and it's Marinette's own fault that she ended up sitting in a place she didn't want. She didn't get a say in her seat because she was late. It had nothing to do with Chloe.

Not that Marinette even care that much about sitting alone in the back. Adrien offered to be the one sitting in the back, but she refused it. If that was the real issue, she had the accomodation to the issue that was bothering her so much (which, btw, isn't "Adrien figuring out he screwed up", if that's what you're referring to by that sentence. It's Adrien being a generous guy. He wouldn't have done anything wrong even if he didn't offer to switch with her.) No, the real thing that was bothering Marinette is that Adrien was sitting next to Lila instead of her.

Marinette's subjective experience is not the bar I'm going to measure who is good and bad by, unlike the show and certain parts of the fandom. Even if Matinette can't be rational, it's still her responsibility. Her age means it's also partially her parents' responsibility, but she still has a responsibility over her own mental health and behaviour. It's not anyone else's responsibility to take care of her mental health for her.

And again, the series doesn't show that Marinette is incapable of being rational at that moment. People would get akumatized over being regularly upset at something. And we know that that's the level of upset Marinette is at the moment because she calms down soon afterwards, enough to not get akumatized.

Claiming this moment is a result of Marinette's trauma is pure headcanon.

I'm not sure what you think a teacher's job is, but managing the student's emotions for them is not part of it. Careing for their well being, yes, but not catering to their every whim just so they won't ever feel a bit of disappointment.

In fact, if we're arguing that the teacher is also responsible for the emotional growth of the student, then Bustier wasn't strict enough. She shouldn't have let Marinette disrupt class just because she was pissy about the sitting arrangement. If it bothered her that much, it could be discussed discussed after class.

Not only was Marinette irresponsible and late to class, which caused her to miss the chance to pick her seat, she also made it everyone's problem. Sitting a few hours alone wouldn't have killed her.

As for the "trauma" or whatever, Derision is the worst episode of the entire show and i don't consider it canon. It's just so retconned and stupid.
