Mutations affected every injury site in his body, both as easy entry poinrs for the blood and as a way to heal him, though not in the way he might appreciate;

His broken ribs were some of the first, it's the cause of his coughing out blood. Mutations "took root" and replaced the broken ribs before spreading to his stomach, left lung and kidney;

Stump is formed by mutated skin and muscle, shaped like a very tight root ball. Wound site won't scab, dry, and rejects sutures;

Replacement arm is not permanent. It may sprout for a specific task or need, but once it's fulfilled, the entire limb collapses into non-cohesive flesh puddles;

Arm tissue is sourced from bronchi, blood is produced in hijacked rib and sternum marrow. If he put his mind to it, he could breathe (oygen exchange) through the arm;

Arm tissue travels through hijacked scar tissue and superficial veins, up the back and shoulder to the stump. It's a quick but painful process, imagine trying to pass a kidney stone the size of your fist.

Causes internal bruising of the muscles the tissue passes through. Sometimes the inflammation is enough to run him a fever;

Disturbance of his bronchi causes several respiratory issues;

He avoids the entire affair as much as he can, if it were up to him it wouldn't happen at all. Sadly the Tree's hivemind doesn't feel the same way.

i’ve seen people who were really confused trying to picture what he looked like @ the end of the story so— here he is. isn’t he beautiful? (ignore the dramatic music in the background)

If you look in the background of the cover art, where Simon is in his own head and peering at the star in his head, you can see something coming out of the doorway behind Simon on the right.

It's foreshadowing what he is to become... this:

I made Simon!Blood really, really fucked up in this fic, guys (AND THERE'S NO SHIPPING IT'S ALL PLATONIC AND TOXIC). I exploded him. The ocean's hivemind has convinced itself that it is Simon. It's some wild ass-backwards psychological horror fuckery. Please go read it guys!!! It's my first "real" written work since writing school and I need hella input so my next fic can be better than the last.
