Tch, blackmail? He was subjected to that before, he wasn’t going to let someone else get the upper hand on him again. And besides, he didn’t forget anything in that regard. Really, just because someone saw several things doesn’t mean they would be able to know his past…the things he have dealt with, and most of all…just the fact that she would still be more accepted than he ever would be.

Her only merely being killed over and over by one person was nothing compared to the stigma that his kind experienced for ages…and the fact that now dominance was the only way to even survive in this sort of world now. “It was only you that was hated then, especially since you are the only kind of your species and thus the hate you would of recieved being a direct result of who you are. It is an entirely different matter when my source has to do with the actions of those of my mind other than just myself. The fact that there is only one way to be able to get the humans to behave would be to supress them most of all.”

Not only that, but he had every intention of also progressing his own scientific pursuits as well. There was always resuming work on the hybrid ‘weapon’ most of all. He could easily make it able to be controlled and still strike down any human or even vampire that tried to oppose him.

“You’re not going to impede my progress at all. I still plan to finish my own research. And you have only possessed me to be able to talk to me, your influence means nothing at all nor will be even be effective.” Then again the darkness had clasped itself too tightly around his heart. It would take more than just prolonged exposure to be able to slowly wretch it free. Whatever there was, it was a heavy burden that he wasn’t letting on about at all nor was he even aware of entirely.

“You got me there. I’m not quite all-powerful enough to get it done quickly and efficiently, and my influence here in your head can only do so much... for now. I’m merely head deity of this world, and there’s still bigger fish in the sea in the grand scheme of things. But that’s far more than enough to achieve what I must, even if it’ll be quite a while.” There’d be a chuckle resounding with a ring in his head, one that had a bittersweet tinge to it. “Either way, there’s more to this than what you know now, at least on my end of things. Just because you’re hearing things from me doesn’t mean I’ll tell you everything, you know. Maybe it might just be a tug at your body at most, maybe it’s more. This is a first for me, so it’s not like I know for sure, either.” 

A lesson, honestly…at this point he could never see humanity learning anything now. While vampirekind did have to rely on them in order to survive, it still meant he could at least use several precious few for his own test subjects. Besides, one of his projects did involve trying to divise a way to decrease the reliance that they had on human blood…or even a way to make a population of human ‘livestock’ that could be able to better satasify their thirst as well…even if it wasn’t an easy process.

“Really…humankind means nothing else to me anymore regardless…aside from being little more than useful test subjects and a means for me to at least survive..” He grumbled, still trying to find the reasoning in what she was trying to say. Really, he had gained a power that was beyond anything he ever had or studied. A magic that humankind labeled as forbidden just due to their inherent fear of the unknown.

Even his old self would have not sought a power like that..or done what was necessary for the sake of knowledge. Such attachments were what held him back, and thus even this attachment would only serve as a further hindrance.

And yet she was giving him and offer…even though he still had in his mind to not rely on anyone..not even others like him for that matter.

“There is nothing that you would be able to help me with, not with what I have gained over time. Also…if you require something to be done correctly, then you may as well do it yourself. Having anyone else assist in any research only succeeds in holding me back.”

Besides, he didn’t trust anyone..not even someone that his old self once considered as an ally. In fact, it was because of that connection to his old self that only strengthened that distrust.

“Tell me why I should even trust you? You don’t have any idea of the sort of things I’ve been through..the sort of things that I have seen in my lifetime..”

“Easy. I’ve basically possessed you. I suppose it’s essentially blackmail, but I can’t do what I have to unless you have prolonged exposure to me like this. But it seems that you’ve forgotten quite a bit if you’re saying that I, of all people, wouldn’t be able to understand the things you’ve seen. And nowadays, I see a lot of things. I carry a responsibility unlike anything this world has seen before. I might be younger than you, but I’ve lived quite the life myself. Though I guess thousands of lives might be a better way to put it.” Her life had been nothing but a sadistic horror show for the first part of her story, and it was hard to top it, no matter how old one was. He was being stubborn, and it was vexing, but she had the power here. Things would settle themselves regardless.
