Customer Loyalty.
At times we allocate ourselves to many roles as to what and who we are, and how we can fully exercise that into finding any form of catharsis, or feeling like youâre finally in your element. One time I could be an actor wearing multiple masks, playing different roles, desiring to step out of my own skin and stepping into anotherâs shoes so that I can feel a sense of purpose, a sense of stability and assurance that I am who I am.
Other times, Iâm a merchant. Riddled with the overthought of whether what I have to offer is worth being sold, worth being displayed for the world to take a gander and see if it is something theyâre willing to buy. At another time, I probably was a merchant again that held that confidence. That held that affirmation on my shoulders. It wasnât much but it was mine.
Yet in this current time, in this current context, I am the merchant trying to convince that the goods I have to offer are of any quality, despite being the manufacturer of it and knowing what the hard work of that results to.
And then you came along, and when I thought you were just window shopping, you decided to stay and spend time at my shop. You took the time to listen to me, to test out the products, and you saw the potential. You saw the quality that I need not try to convince you of as it spoke for itself. And you came back, you continued to do so.
You started to bring out times of me being the confident merchant to the present, and it was no longer a time I reminisced as it was here again already. Presently. It was never lost, it was always there and it coming back was inevitable. I wouldâve woken up one day and looked at my shop and appreciated how this was built with my own hands. You were the catalyst, and youâve quickly and continuously become the muse.
It has gotten to the point, welcomed, that I implement customer loyalty, as itâs proven to be a working business model; and you need not to worry about having an empty wallet as your loyalty and your active and conscious decision to come by my shop anyway has already made its mark.
Iâve never thought of myself being lucky. What with all the obstacles it took to open the shop I offer, and the inflicted doubt on my worth as a merchant, itâs easy to not want to subscribe into such a power that felt like it had purposefully excluded me from its orbitâŚyet I find myself lucky to have met you, as I wouldâve otherwise mightâve stayed docile and dormant. I wouldâve closed shop and kept it locked. Cold and bitter enough to fog up what was in front of me, coming from me, affect cause of meâŚand you came.
What could be an endless pit of what ifs, could have beens and if onlyâs; this is where we both end up. This is the world we breathe in and itâs you in front me, and me to you fully entrusted and in faith, believing you are just the rapport Iâve been looking for. Even if you cannot see it, even if you are adamant on wanting to have something to give, you fail to see how youâve already given me everything I needed and more. And you continue to by continuing to stop by my shop. Every day, you walk in and you sit to have a conversation with me. You speak softly to me, well versed in my mantra and demeanor, you know what I sell and you still come back every time. That must mean you already believe that Iâm not going anywhere, and that what I could provide already aligns with what you were looking for to begin with.
And if conversations are all weâll have, then we can spend all day doing that until we both have to clock out and that in itself is enrichment enough. But, if in transparency, with the way you speak, the way we speak, the words we share, the care we bareâŚot poses as if , if you really think about it, we are pulling a game of tug of war against each other when itâs seeming like weâve both been on the same side the entire time. So in that case, in this scenario at this time, you need not demand or wonder what can you give, as you believe seemingly empty or in doubt, because youâve already made me feel validated. Youâve made me feel scared. And excited. Curious. Joyful. Playful. Explicit in my full unbecoming, and into more openness, all with a strong foundation of trust. Youâve allowed me to understand you and be understood. Weâve surpassed our insecurities, our walls weâve built and weâve been able to see each other eye to eye with complete transparency so, how can you say youâve nothing to offer when youâve done the work in complete pure honesty and intention?
Weâve all made active decisions. Conscious ones. Me opening shop and baring my blood, sweat and tears was of my own volition. You deciding to come back over and over, ever so gently always genuine in intent coming back to show to me just how much value I offer. How genuine my jewels are to shine bright when light is thrust upon it, regardless of the when and whereâs. The howâs and whyâs, it was always going to shine; but it would not fully be realized if it wasnât for your hand holding it up for the light to break through.
And I light up the strip, as do youâŚthis is our doing; we. Ours. This is my power, and there is yours. And one does not diminish the other, instead Iâve already seen the rapport. Iâve seen the potential, and itâs only a matter of the two of us reaching for it together. The beauty that that could entail. The power that we, in unison, could have. The content. The excitement. The fear. The gamble.
Being a merchant means having to gamble, we never know how itâll go. And youâve proven and made clear youâve seen the value in my shop; so who is to say you canât trust the cards being in our favor with this gamble. A royal flush.
I have this quiet confidence, continuously growing, transcending more than this ship. More than just my body. And none of that would ever feel satisfying, or fulfilling, or complete without you. And I donât doubt your absence, your loyalty has been proven. I only wish I could someday prove to you that this model is neither selfish, or preempted for high profit return. It is because I see the value in you as a customer in my shop, and you see the twinkle in my eyes.
Here we stand in my shop, worrying about whether or not weâre making the right calls when we never needed to call anything, as itâs already been reaching out to us. In front of us, and itâs only a matter of focusing on the greener pastures you and I could reach together. Almost unimaginable as it is devoid of any hesitancy, any fear, any nihilism. Yet you believe my passion in what I sell, you see me. So shouldnât that be enough reassurance and affirmation that all while unimaginable, it maintains authenticity and confidence. It maintains the autonomy and the power to shift it to our favor and we relish and bask in it. And in patience too, no less.
Youâve been the birds that chirp in the background as I step outside for the sun. You speak to me, and of me, like a ballad persisting through the roles we play now et al. And in turn you make me feel my skin. My place. My identity, all of which beautifully sandwiched in between my loyalty and my never boring, never ending pursuit in showing you my desire and dedication in getting you to believe that for yourself on your side as it already goes without saying on mine.
Youâve already locked me in, you get access to all the perks and benefits. Itâs yours for the taking, and mine to offer and give to you, regardless of the worries you have of not being able to give because youâve already done so and more. So these products are yours for the taking. And this isnât on any rash decisions, or half baked certainties; youâve done the time and the steps to show me how much of a valued and loyal customer youâve been. Youâve earned this response to be completely vulnerable yet confident in you being deserving of the customer loyalty approach. You reap these rewards, these unmoving promises, because youâre not lacking of having enough to give. Itâs already yours, and you get to do with that what you desire.
Itâs a matter of whether or not you wanna accept them and confront them, allowing yourself the benefit of the doubt that maybeâŚjust maybeâŚwhat Iâve been selling is the jackpot. And youâve already hit it. And itâs not going anywhere. Itâs gonna open the doors for a lot more invited chaos, earnest new adventures and who knows where, not just I or you but, we both could end up.
All it takes is a gamble, and weâve both already acknowledged that luck is on our side and it only took each other to believe it to fruition.
