So Far...

To Rebecca, who kissed me two and a half times yesterday....

Talking, laughing, eating, puts us face to face.

Our heads move.

Eye to eye, breath to breath, blink to blink .

What is true between us, manifests as the kiss.

It is Monday.

It is NOT Friday, that inspiring day that jams us into the week's end.

What a dissapointment Tuesday becomes with its appointments, errands, slack.

Wednesday and Thursday drain away without a word.

Now,go read the week end.

Do you know I worshipped you?

Were you ever secretly my love?

Can I tape a broken heart?

I have to leave you now.

Nothing fills the void I make.

Grieving for my whole heart, gone.

Do you believe in “rewards”, “karma”, “ just desserts” ? Me too.

Today is a day I picked to clean and conquer : trash, boxes, dishes, clothes and clutter in my tiny space. I am a prolific prayer and I asked God for a fruitful, safe and happy day. Before noon today I experienced three answers to three  prayers.

1.     I met my neighbor in the hall and admired the loaf of bread she got from the bakery donations sent to our building that morning. I was headed downstairs 15 minutes later and met her again. She extended her arm to give me the bread. I went all MN n (Minnesota nice) on her, but stopped and held my hand out for the loaf.  Being from Somalia, she probably had no idea why I kept saying “no” and then took the bread and thanked her many times (MN..... what?)

2.     As I rode down the elevator I was thinking how great a sweet treat would be when I took a coffee break. In the lobby, I saw John, ( a man with whom I had once shared some encouraging words) bracing himself to go outside. As we chatted, he asked if I would like a package of cinnamon rolls …I enjoyed them  so much!  (MN …mmmmm.)

3.     While I was downstairs I prayed there might be an open parking space close to the building. This would make it much easier to use my walker to get to my truck in the next snowy days.A peek outside showed I had four spots to choose from!  (MN..... Amen!) .

SO chin up, prayers are answered, even small ones. “ I sing because I'm happy, I sing because I'm free; For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches

me. “ . And that loaf of bread? It was labeled “Artisan Minnesota Nice 7  Whole Grains”.
