French revolutionary Maximilian Robespierre was baptised on this day 6 May, in 1758. While he is best known for his involvement in the increasingly violence of the French Revolution, his apparent lack of sexual interests has been a point of discussion for scholars ever since his death, and provides us with an interesting window into how to talk about asexual history.
