Born and raised in the city

Not because we’re hiding… but because we’re tired of being judged for being human. As a man, it’s strange being the one who was hurt without wanting to “play the victim.”

But being hurt doesn’t make me dramatic — it makes me real. I never wanted sympathy.

I never claimed perfection.

I’ve always held myself accountable. What I am doing is acknowledging the truth:

I was treated badly.

I was lied to.

I was betrayed.

I was quickly replaced.

I was blocked.

I was given no apology, no clarity, no honesty. That doesn’t make me a victim.

That makes me someone who finally stopped pretending it didn’t happen. Men don’t talk about heartbreak because we’re taught to swallow it.

To “man up.”

To stay quiet.

To never admit we were hurt. But strength isn’t silence.

Strength is saying:

“Yeah, it hurt. And I survived it.” I didn’t collapse.

I didn’t lash out.

I didn’t chase.

I didn’t beg.

I didn’t try to ruin her life. I accepted it.

I learned from it.

I kept moving. That’s not victimhood.

That’s growth.

Pain didn’t define me.
