So I took a bunch of suggestions at my Instagram for inktober because none of the prompts really interested me… so here’s the first collection of crack/rare pairings!

          initially, richard’s curious as to what simon could possibly be talking about - brow furrowing softly and led blinking amber at the announcement from the other android beside him. not necessary? there were many things unnecessary for androids to worry themselves with, many that were required for humans and not for their mechanical counterparts - what could simon be talking about–

          frame stiffens instinctively at first, unsure of what he’s meant to be doing here - what’s happening and what simon’s doing. that is, until there’s a weight around his neck when the other pulls away - seemingly happy with his work as richard’s own hands raise to investigate. fingers press against the fabric, then - seemingly without meaning to - the rk unit’s lips are pressed tenderly against the soft material experimentally. it’s warm - in contrast to the chill in the air around them, it’s been threatening to snow for a few days now - humans are donning more layers to keep the cold at bay. it’s easy to tell who in a crowd is an android in this weather. richard wasn’t in tune with the aspect of… fitting in. perhaps that’s why he’s surprised initially? 

          simon bought a scarf. for… him?

          “you–this is… for me?” there’s a hint of disbelief in the android’s voice. his choice of work didn’t exactly lend itself to gift giving. richard wasn’t entirely cottoned onto the idea. it’s strange, alien even. an unrecognisable experience he didn’t have any preprogrammed response to. grey hues searches simon’s own blue out instinctively, brows arched and gaze soft as pale lips curl upwards. led returns to cool blue tone as richard pulls simon closer, hands at the small of his back as he guides the shorter of the two against his frame. 

          keeping a hand at the small of simon’s back, the other hesitates a second before coming to cup the side of the other android’s face - thumb smoothing softly over pale cheek affectionately as richard’s gaze searches familiar features. there’s a faint blue dusting over the rk unit’s cheeks and the tops of his ears - not for the cold but more the sentiment behind the gift.
