Rocky refuses to let the others undermine Grace because of his age or because he's not from Erid! Grace is a genius, he was the one to keep the taumoeba from eating through Rocky's ship and he will be seen as a respected individual or they will face Rocky's wrath!!

so i've been kinda going insane about this scene, and i need to talk about how this man is NOT getting out of this unscathed. i'm not a scientist, nor am i very smart, but like. c'mon, he was spinning so fast, that has to have done horrible things to his body

not only would this be sending all the blood in his brain to the frontal lobe from the force, and depriving him of oxygen from his lungs struggling to inflate from the pressure, but also would probably be fucking up his neck from how he's crunched against the navigation system. and passing out is a BAD sign, no matter what, and even just passing out once for a brief period can be damaging- so let's give him brain/spinal damage!

grace waking up dazed and disoriented and the whole ship still feels like it's spinning and he can barely sit up without falling over. i imagine he'd be very disoriented and confused the first few days after waking up, and his mobility is severely impacted. struggling to walk, stumbling, having trouble lifting his arms higher than his waist, shaking uncontrollably. but he pushes through it, for rocky.

working through horrible brain fog, losing his train of thought easily, having to struggle to remember what number he was writing or what word he was looking for, which is pretty concerning to him, but he ignores it. ignoring the way he struggles to use his left hand despite being ambidextrous, his markers slipping through his fingers because they won't close properly, knocking things over while trying to compensate for the lack of feeling. he feels stupid again, feels like he's failing humanity

and he's losing time, too. every now and again he'll lose a blip of what he was doing, nothing big, just a few seconds, something he writes off as being tired and stressed. but then, once rocky's healed, he has his first tonic-clonic seizure, and rocky's so scared. wailing and rolling around desperately, unable to help his friend that seems to be dying right in front of him

Or even some kind of adaptive device to help him live his life with Eridian technology that we can't comprehend

Ryland Grace having to form a totally new way of being around this despite only just remembering his old identity

Eridians having no concept of ableism and Grace having to explain to Rocky all the complicated things he feels about his body

OR Eridians do have a concept of ableism and Grace and Rocky can bond over it because of Rockys leg

Ryland Grace trying to explain to Eridians how a human body 'normally' functions but he can't use himself as an example which leads to funny miscommunications
