Just saw an ad for fucking Kellog's cornflakes wherein a shirtless blindfolded man tied to a bed is like "Wait.. are you... eating??" and it pans across the bed to reveal that his partner is, indeed, too distracted to have sex with him bc she is chowing down on corn flakes. Now I've been caught up in wondering whether:
a) John Harvey Kellog would despise this ad; the mere proximity of bondage-play to his brand name and beloved anti-porn flakes is unforgivable
b) John Harvey Kellog would enjoy this ad, because it shows a young woman forsaking the temptations of the flesh in favour of eating a wholesome and nourishing bowl of cornflakes

Like yeah, it had serious problems, was a terrible intro to the franchise for anyone brand new to it, and there's not a single episode of the six that wouldn't have benefited greatly by being 50% longer, but...
As far as video game related audio-visual media go, it's like sixty million percent better than most. It's only failure in trying to capture what made the games good - its focus on a cast of fun characters with interesting dynamics - was primarily related to its other flaws, not some slavish adherence to the source material.
Plus, we got our first visual look at Tevinter, met a douche of a magister, had a cute little gay romantic subplot, and most importantly, it has provided me additional sustenance during these trying times as we await Veilguard.
It was a missed opportunity, but if Veilguard is a hit, I would love to see more animated DA. Just, for the love of the Maker, please give them the budget to let the characters and story breathe next time.

Wrote a 94k novel in about 3 months in 2020, with another ~70k short story collection in 2021. Got COVID in 2022 and ever since then... it's like pulling teeth. A permanent brain fog just when I try to write, and tired every night, right when I would be hitting my stride. When I do get writing I never seem to enter the flow I was capable of before COVID.
Not debilitating and I can do most everything else. But the one thing I loved most has been gone for almost two years now.
Am I alone?

TBH it felt like Voyager did in a lot of ways: it was like 80% of the way to something, then let it down in the end. Except Season 2. Season 2 was on the way to nowhere after like two episodes.
