I keep returning to the way Absolution handled slavery in tevinter and how it told such a compelling story with high stakes and personal relationship explorations all within the clear structural issues of the world. How it went out of its way to show how humans in tevinter are raised to see elves as a means to an end so that even the two people who claimed to love Miriam the most were ultimately willing to betray, push her boundaries and use her for their own means. How it linked the venatori to this not as 'evil boogie men who are the main villians' but as serious motivators for Hira and her entire plotline so that SHE could be one of the main villians'. And how Miriam's experiences, trauma and defiance at being an ex slave could not be erased from this narrative and in fact made it what it was.
And then Trick Weekes saying they didn't think Slavery Bad needed much space. And how they clearly resented having to set their game in tevinter with all this slavery baggage at all and so we didn't have characters like Miriam or even like Hira and Rezaren because well. You know. We already know slavery is bad so lets just not give it any space.
Valentine's might be for romance, but for these prompts, feel free to celebrate platonic as well as romantic love! The collection on AO3 is live if you want to add your works to it, and we have a canonical tag too!

serious question is dragon age absolution really that bad or are most of the reviewers just homophobic cuz ive seen lots of reviews that just say that there were too much gay stuff and the plot was dry but like every negative review i saw mentioned gay stuff.
so is it really bad or are the reviewers homophobic like most of the reviewers in shows based on games

Apologies for the delay, as Life™️ has been Life™️-ing a lot recently, but we're very excited to announce that it's time for the fourth annual Dragon Age Big Bang! (No, really, where has all the time gone???)
