😭 my vet wants to test Jason for lupus

#they told me to ask his breeder about a family history of lupus and now she's stressed about it #its so hard asking breeders questions because i understand why they feel defensive but im not here for any of that #and like. yeah shes right i dont think he matches typical signs of lupus but if the test is negative nothing is lost but whatever we spend #if its positive we gain so much since its a destructive systemic disease and the earlier you catch it the better!#and theres multiple types of lupus maybe my vet is thinking one of those #no matter what its just a starting point #there was some light implication that i was at fault for the slow healing but im trying to be normal about it. its fine.#i doubt she meant anything cruelly just. dogs are an emotional topic! and its not like i send her updates often she has no way to #know how hes doing or what quality of care hes getting ya know? so again. trying to be normal about it #and just keep her updated since she asked me to #if its not lupus thats also good information because we can look in a different direction if our vet wants to #hes just got skin problems we assumed were allergies that he has apoquel for #and he heals slowly. and if my vet wants to check for an autoimmune because of that then i have nothing to lose #by agreeing. and my best boy in the world to lose by refusing ya know?

He hates it

#he actually was fine its just really windy. he was THRILLED to go on a walk however small #and the best thing about it being a winter storm warning (would be a blizzard if we were getting our usual precipitation amount but alas)#is that no one else is out ^-^ just us #not cold enough for that coat tbh but he likes protection from the wind #our vet had us bring him back in to get the rest of his stitches out (he didnt get the memo that they were dissolvable)#on Friday and the difference is night and day. its HEALING instead of getting worse!!! and healing so fast i #felt comfortable taking him on a little walk #jason #3 years #it was also nice for me since *ive* been missing our walks too #nothing like collapsing into a snow drift. maximum comfort right there. they should make furniture that emulates a snow drift

#jason #3 years #sorry about the gross looking blanket it is simply almost as old as i am. if not as old.#his solution to the frozen topple is to just jam half his jaw inside and bite until chunks come out #poor guy is STILL healing from surgery its kind of insane. i keep bugging my vet and she keeps saying its fine so #trying not to panic and all that
