Stop and smell the Roses

NOW.

It is Christmas! The first one he'll get to spend with Audrey in a few years! I know that man is going to be damn near giddy about her being back and getting to share the holiday with her again. His family is HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!!!! I think Dorothy is going to be a mostly unwelcome distraction!

I actually don't think he is going to be particularly pleased with Dorothy's arrival. There is nothing in that trailer that suggests he is?? In the first shot he looks HORRIFIED (probably bc if you recall that man LITERALLY ghosted her. She wrote. He did NOT return those letters). Then she's all over him showing him how to aim a dart and like ok we've SEEN Siegfried flirt before and he has definitely NOT activated the Siegfried Charm Initiative in that scene. At least not the bit we were shown. He looks neutral to me. Then she's accompanying him on a call and she's reminiscing, meanwhile he's away laughing on a fast camel.

That doesn't seem like someone who is preoccupied with the woman in question. I think he will be polite. He might even flirt a bit bc thats just his way, but it's not going to be serious.

If it was anybody other than specifically Dorothy, I might be more concerned. I think if we were to look like 3 seconds past what a Siegfried/Dorothy relationship would mean for the Christmas Special and like actually think about what the show would look like if they went down this road, it would be all the more apparent why it isn't viable. What? Siegfried pursues a relationship with her? Marries her? And then what? Audrey works for them? L O L. ITS ABSURD. It's not happening.

I think this realization is exactly what is going to have Siegfried politely give Dorothy the northwest shove. He's going to realize that a romantic entanglement with her FRIEND would only lead to Audrey leaving. And he's not having THAT. Not after just getting her back. Not after spending so much time making sure she'll stay.

We might briefly need to endure Siegfried being a bit, well, Siegfried, about this, but he's going to get a clue, I promise. They would NOT spend all season focussing on their relationship just to topple the whole thing on Christmas Eve.

I think having an attractive, affable, available, CLEARLY willing woman come through and having Siegfried reject her outright (and please trust he WILL reject her) bc it's going to put him in an awkward spot with Audrey actually speaks volumes about how he feels about her and how unwilling he is to lose her. In the same way Audrey didn't go with Gerald because her Skeldale family was more important to her!!!!!
