And he loved her. Dearly. He desired her. Absolutely. And he wanted what was best for her - and that wasn't him. It was as simple as that. Richard was a good chap and on the plus side he wouldn't take her to the Lake Distract or some other estranged part of the country where Siegfried wouldn't be able to see her. If he was lucky, she would stay on as his housekeeper. And if not, he would at least see her for family dinners or when he had to make a farm call. That was the small ray of hope he had left when it came to the future.

"Do you…" She mocked him. "I do, too… I were in the pharmacy earlier," she said. "Thanks to Lady Chatterley I remembered something." She picked the small paper bag from her nightstand and asked him to open it. Intrigued, he did as she asked him and when he opened the lid of the small box inside, he smiled. "What do you know about such things?" He wondered.
