Okay I might upset a few people with this one (or it’s a very popular theory) but I think the reason Jax pressed the red button wasn’t only because of Kaufmo and Ribbit. Caine was watching this whole scene go down and realized, if he didn’t do something, they were gonna inevitably chose the blue button. Not wanting to feel betrayed, he took advantage of Jax during his little panic attack, (or maybe the panic attack was Jax trying to fight off Caine, who knows) and forced him to hit the red button just so he wouldn’t feel the pain of everyone choosing the exit over him. I feel like that’s why Jax started to accuse Caine of controlling their minds out of the blue. That’s just a fun theory I’ve been cooking up.

All the stuff that happened in episode 7 is just so sad with Kinger. Now that we finally can confirm that Caine can alter the players minds, and we know Kinger knows some things Caine doesn’t want him to share with everyone else, so he’s been basically trying to keep Kinger in his “clueless” state at all times so Caine can keep everyone in the dark about the origins of the circus, which I guess kinda explains why the circus is so bright all the time. Kinger has always been my favorite but adding the whole extra layer of Kinger and the origins of the circus is just the cherry on top for me. And This scene in particular…

He was about to leak something major but he was stopped by the obnoxious amount of light. (EDIT: Just realized on the rewatch he knew the passes were fake and so that’s what he wanted to say to Pomni) The fact that this freaking chess piece could alter an entire fandoms perspective and feelings on every single character with like two sentences is just one of the many reasons why I love him. Oh and now we really know why Able didn’t want to get Kinger at first because he wanted to make the chance of him remembering that Able never existed as least likely as possible. Sorry I was slow on that last part.

And when Kinger finally remembers something important to the plot (not to mention in a decently lit area), Caine shuts him up real quick. It’s like Kingers trapped in a prison and knows the way out, but he can’t remember how to escape. Actually, that’s exactly what’s going on. Episode 8 better give Kinger the justice he deserves. He needs a hug
