Bay Optimus probably wanted TFA Optimus to just have a quiet civilian life. 💔

While he is grateful that his sparkling knows how to defend himself, he would rather Optimus never entered the Autobot Academy just to put his spark in the line of danger 😭😔

Bay Op definitely would've preferred if TFA Op lived a life as a civilian, they could've just taught him all of their skills if TFA Op really wanted to learn how to fight. Neither parent believe about the peace the Autobot Council preaches, not when the discrimination warframes are still high along with the need for soldiers. I'd like to think that Bay MegOp considered living in some neutral outpost if only to avoid any possible conflicts because they're both considered warframes with their height and weapons.

But Bay Op hesitated, he didn't want to accidentally isolate his kid from the others and out of everything this was what TFA Op had determinedly asked of them.

As I remember, the idea was that the autobots would find Nemesis after killing sgSkyquake. That leaves sgMegatron, sgSoundwave and the vehicons on the ship. Megatron would meet an ignominious and rather stupid demise, as he would decide at the last moment to fight as a hero. Precisely when nothing can be undone anymore. Vehicons will all be slaughtered, as they are traitors, and their bodies will probably be recycled. Aaand snowy Soundwave... Who tried to organize the evacuation. He did his best to make sure that at least someone survived, but in the end he was left alone.
