Cockrum design for a new Warren Worthington identity, DarkAngel.
Cockrum designs for a potential New X-Men character, Typhoon.
(Andy Yanchus color guide)
SKY-WOLF: Dave Cockrum and Marv Wolfman created this Blackhawk inspired feature, which ran in MARVEL FANFARE 16 and 17 (1984). Not exactly sure where it originated. The original art for the splash reads both "Marvel Premiere #41" and "Skywolf #1," so one assumes it predates FANFARE.
There's also a Cockrum painting in existence that seems to have a 1979 date.
I assume it was at one time slated for publication in MARVEL PREMIERE in 1979, but how much was done at the time, and was it ever intended as a stand-alone series?
Cockrum's design for Spider-Man villain(ish) the Black Cat, and her first official appearance, on a cover by Al Milgrom.

Dave Cockrum developmental sketches for Jean Grey/Phoenix, and a character sheet created later.
Dave Cockrum at the height of his powers. This is very early on in the new X-Men series, after they had introduced Storm Colossus, Nightcrawler, et al, and not too long after issue #100. Here Dave is giving us the Shi’ar version of James T. Kirk and the USS Enterprise crew. Not too long after this, he would introduce the Marvel version of The Legion of Super-Heroes, aka The Imperial Guard.

Early Cockrum concept. The Outsiders.
Nightcrawler was basically fully formed long before Cockrum left DC for Marvel. Typhoon is a sort of Storm prototype, which he would also flesh out more before launching the New X-Men.
