and here we are again

Had a nice art exchange with a bunch of friends! For this exchange, I chose Will and Strohl. I listened to the OST as well as some character conversations to get a better feel for the characters as I haven't played this game, but now I'm interested!

Proud to finally show my piece for the Pokejinka Dex - Kanto/Johto zine by @dotzines! My Pokemon was Fearow, where I focused on a kyūdō design as I wanted him to look older and more traditional. Please check out the other artists, there's many cool designs! 👀

A Halloween art trade! My friend requested Over the Garden Wall, a show that I've actually yet to finish. Since I didn't know the show that well, I had to pull a lot of references to get a general sense of the aesthetics/characters. I'm liking the layer effects I used in this drawing!

An experimental page out of my sketchbook that I worked on. At first I started with only blue hydrangeas, but I thought it would be fun to include purple and pink as well! I've been itching to use my Ohuhu markers again so I settled on doing flowers.

Another photo study done! This one took me a bit longer, but I used a landscape/plein air procreate guide that helped me make use of textured brushes. This is based on a photo I took in Norway back in 2015. I'm very proud of this one!

A study based on a photo I took while in Japan last year. I like noticing the little things in life and hope to express that in my art. I'm especially fond of the textures in this drawing.

This was a redrawing of a fanart I did in 2013. Of course I like pulling obscure quotes from video game trailers before the game's official release.

Forgot to post this study of a grackle that was in our backyard (husband took this picture). I had a fun time working with the lines especially to achieve the iridescent effect.

Here's a Christmas drawing I did this year for @tianmasaki of her OC, Mono Chrome! I referenced from the Vocaloid song "ECHO" 📺 It was really fun to draw his scarf and use alcohol markers again!
