Wheel of Life Made From Marching Skeleton Legs by Monika Horčicová

Czech artist Monika Horčicová used a set of 29 walking skeleton legs and feet, which were made by 3D printing. Composed from plaster composite, sculpted and then casted into polyurethane resin, the pieces are meticulously assembled. 

Emmanuelle Moureaux: 100 Colors Lab  

Emmanuelle Moureaux born in 1971, is a French architect living in Tokyo since 1996, where she established “emmanuelle moureaux architecture + design” in 2003. Inspired by the layers and colors of Tokyo that built a complex depth and density on the street, and the Japanese traditional spatial elements like sliding screens, she has created the concept of shikiri, which literally means “dividing (creating) space with colors”. 

She uses colors as three-dimensional elements, like layers, in order to create spaces, not as a finishing touch applied on surfaces. Handling colors as a medium to compose space, her wish is to give emotion through colors with her creations, which range from art, design to architecture.

The Sculptural Ceramics of  Matt Chambers

The ceramic works of Matthew Chambers are born from a love of geometric and constructivist art, architecture, and design.

Each piece is a constructed abstract exploration of shape combining traditional processes and contemporary form, designed to create a visual and tactile beauty and intrigue. They are minimalist yet complex objects built from layering many sections within a single form.

Technical Information

Ceramic sculpture and vessels made from stoneware clay. Colour using oxides and stains is added directly to the clay before the making process, and each piece is constructed from many sections individually hand thrown on the potters wheel. Each piece is carefully sanded and polished before and after the firings to ensure a speckled, stone like finish that is highly smooth and tactile.
