Bad ending of a previous pathfinder session. It didn’t happen, but it could have. 

The crew came across what they thought was a sandbar in the middle of the ocean. Instead it turned out to be a GIANT, ABSOLUTELY HUUUUUGE sea turtle. My marine biology loving ass was so fucking pumped. IC however, Opehlia being a worshipper of Procan, a God of the Sea/storms/weather HAD to go see it. So she did and she was told to climb atop its back to receive her reward for being such a devoted follower.  On its back she came across a small hut with the sound of a hundred sirens singing inside, but it all came from one old man clothed in rags and seaweed. He gestured to the two headed trident and told her to take it. It being the symbol of her god, she did and when she turned around the man was gone. When she went to leave however, she could not, some invisible barrier blocked her way and the old man appeared outside some 20ft away and laughed claiming she’d have to strike him down or be stuck there forever. I panicked as a player because fuck me man I dont wanna strike down an very obvious avatar of the god my character worships. But we did and channeled her will through the trident and sent a volley of lightning his way and almost the half mile all the way back to the ship. 

She wanted to give him a little prayer of thanks for the gift and lesson….then a bunch of fucking hands came out of crevices in the coral reef on the turtles back.  This is were the bad ending starts. Instead of getting away, shes held down and like her namesake, Ophelia is drowned as the turtle descends through the sea once again.
