my name is Clover! i am a Catholic folk witch very interested in early church teachings, Gnosticism, folk Catholicism, Christian mysticism and green witchcraft.

I was raised Evangelical but left the church early on. I felt the call of Our Lady and eventually converted to Catholicism on 3/14/24.

I am autistic and Religion is my special interest, mainly Abrahamic but I adore pagan religions as well.

I mainly work with of St. Mary of Magdala and Mary Mother of God, but some other saints I work with are:

St Dymphna, patron saint of the mentally ill, incest survivors, those with epilepsy and many more

sleeping St Joseph, patron saint of sleep

St Zita, patron saint of maids, domestic servants, and cleaning

I use this blog to document my studies, take notes, do research, talk about my saints and overall practice. I'd love it if you came on this religious journey with me!

my biggest BIGGEST tip is form connections with plants.

revering nature has been a part of Catholicism ever since it spread into pagan areas.

you don’t need all the fancy endangered things you see on TikTok like sage and frankincense. Learn about YOUR surroundings!

can you name three native flowers in your area? How about three trees? Three grasses?

can you go outside and immediately recognize the flora and fauna around you?

that is where I’d start, because my paganism has always been about learning. Talk to the dandelions! Learn what plants are edible! Vent all your frustrations at the wind!

Traditional Catholicism likes to keep you following blindly. I love my religion, but the dependence on priests and the pope really sever people’s connection with their spirituality because they feel like they have no authority, no right to get to know God without someone holding their hand.

don’t be afraid to get things wrong. Find yourself a community you feel comfortable in. Online is great, but talk to some of the older ladies in your congregation and I guarantee you’ll learn some tricks that don’t seem too far off from paganism (usually English paganism)

learn about your ancestry. Each continent, country, and town has their own rich history, you just have to learn where to look. For example, I’m mostly Irish and German, so I like to research Irish and German folklore.

it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the information you’ll find. Start a journal. It doesn’t have to be aesthetic or well organized, it just needs to hold your information.

paganism is taxing, like all religions are! When you start mixing practices, it can be hard to keep up. Remember to take breaks. sometimes a break is a day, sometimes it’s three months, sometimes it’s a year. the only expectations on you are the ones you and your spirit team place on you, so remember to breathe! you’ve got this and good luck on your journey!
