Your Friendly Neighborhood Weirdo

So Marvel confirmed their choice for the new spider-man in their up coming movies and surprise surprise, it’s another Peter Parker. This is upsetting for a multitude of reasons, first being there are LITERALLY so many other choices for spider-man and they insist on doing vanilla ass Peter Parker every time. Honestly, why go through the trouble of creating great characters like Ben Riley, Miles Morales and even Miguel O’hara if their not even going to insert them into the spotlight. I get that Marvel might be looking to keep spider-man in the form most people know him as but COME ON!!! With a character like spider-man, there is so much ground work for good films that don’t just re-tell the same origin story over again followed by a fight with the green goblin and other obvious villains. While I am partial to the Miles Morales for MCU swing it would be interesting to see any number of other worthy candidates take up the mantle. Now, maybe i’m over reacting but, it’s just stupid to have the film rights to a large “Spiderverse” and not explore it more. I guess the best way to describe my feelings on this whole ordeal is this, change it up this time Marvel or stop rebooting a series that’s becoming pretty damn repetitive.
