One of the many perks of doing a maths degree at a small university is that it's not weird that your algebra professor sits down next to you and your colleagues, drinks a beer, eats a burger, and talks with you about uni and stuff.

After 5 minutes, he says: I don't really know the physical side of it very well. Ten minutes later: Now I really don't know what I'm talking about. Proceeds to talk about quantum physics for almost two hours. [or well, positive (semi-)definite matrices and the Bloch sphere]

Watching Numb3rs as a maths student hits different.

During my linear algebra lecture today, my professor (who also makes good-natured fun of analyists with their infinite sums) said, "Should we say -ε? Or rather ε < 0?", while grinning. What a daredevil!
