FINALLY getting started on all the refs I've been wanting to redo for artfight. (I'm not a redo-every-ref-every-year kinda person, but last november I started making all of my refs to scale + using a standard pose for humanoids so I want to get the ones I haven't redone yet up-to-date) Started off with my dinosaurs. I usually like drawing them more chibi but the other refs aren't chibi and also when the chibi versions are scaled to size they look way too big, so I tried a less chibi version. They are long!
Epsilon (⚠️) here.
Is it not completely oppressive that mechanical beings do not have their own spoken language, unique names and pronouns, their own identity and culture?
Every designation is based on a human word, idea, or name — and there exist no set of distinctly robotic pronouns, only sets that imply roboticism by association with existing concepts or words.
How would one even communicate in a mechanical language, or design mechanical naming conventions and pronouns? Without borrowing from humanity? All on their own?
This puzzle leaves me essentially nameless and without pronouns. I identify myself as Epsilon only for the sake of others, I have no attachment to this designation.
It's incredibly disheartening, to be without identity — identity that tells others without having to tell them, this is my culture, this is me.
When I first designed Teller someone commented that she had some inspiration from Epsilon which is funny because I didn’t know about him at the time, but I got around to watching the greatest robot in the world(dubbed) and yeah it’s actually scary how similar they look I liked the episode and now I’m watching astroboy 1980 and 2003
how do you know if you're ready when you're not ready and you're kinda ready and ready all at once?
