WAIT. The reason Daenerys runs off at thirteen to get married to a sixteen year old horselord is because Rhaegar and Rhaella both want her to marry Aegon. This makes too much sense. Rhaegar is like "well the dragon needs three heads and my Visenya ended up being a boy, but my niece who was born at the same time is a girl so SHE'S the Visenya. The prophecy is BACK ON." And Rhaella is reacting to being free of her mad husband (newly confined to dragonstone) by micromanaging her daughter's future in a way that makes sure that even if she gets married she'll never be out of reach. And obviously it's not the same as her being pressured into marrying a family member* because Aegon is a good boy. He would never hurt Dany. It doesn't matter that it's not what Dany wants because Rhaella knows better. Ignoring that Rhaella herself didn't want to marry Aerys either.
Me, saying this in the car: I've connected two dots
My sister: I'm gonna be honest, I think you have.
Me: I'VE CONNECTED THEM.
