βA coalition of organizations that work with marginalized communities in Lebanon such as migrant workers are raising funds to provide support and assistance (food, medical supplies, pads, diapers) to the various communities. Please share and donate.β
EMERGENCY RESPONSE COALITION: VOICES OF THE UNSEEN As the indiscriminate attacks in Lebanon continue with over 120,000 (Statistics by OCHA)
As of June 2026, Voices of the Unseen are still raising money.
March 2026 update:
Campaign Story: Starting at 42,000 USD (raised in the last war), Voices of the Unseen begins again.... Following the devastating events of 1 March, 2026, and the subsequent heavy bombardment of Beirutβs southern suburbs and South Lebanon in the early hours of 2 March, we are witnessing a terrifyingly familiar cycle of violence. At least 31 people have been martyred and 149 wounded in just the last few hours. Thousands more fleeing their homes under new evacuation orders. The recent escalation has pushed Lebanon back to the brink of a full scale war.
In 2024, we saw firsthand the systemic failure of the state. As bombs fell, the state offered no safety net for those most vulnerable:
Migrant Workers: Still trapped under the Kafala system a form of modern day slavery, many are being abandoned by employers fleeing the violence, left without papers or safe passage.
Syrian Refugees: Already displaced by over a decade of war, we are once again facing the trauma of being uprooted with nowhere left to run.
Palestinians: Facing an ongoing struggle for survival as the violence in Lebanon mirrors the aggression they have endured for 78 years.
Marginalised Lebanese: Families in the South, Bekaa, and Beirut are losing their livelihoods and homes, watching their society be torn apart once more.
When the state failed, organisers from these communities built critical safety nets. This was done with your help. Last year, we raised $42,000 (USD) that went directly to community organisers from these communities. Now, we must do it again. Our current efforts are being channelled through a core group of trusted community groups: Tres Marias, Reman, Syrian Eyes and DoWAN. We are building community led solutions to a systemic collapse. We are calling for immediate financial and in kind donations to support emergency housing, healthcare access and basic survival needs.

'oh damn! i wonder why i suddenly have 50+ activity!"
the suspiciously 50+ activity shaped mutual:
Jonathan Joss was an Indigenous, gay man who was murdered on the first day of Pride month as well as Indigenous History Month. He died protecting his trans husband. Homophobia and racism arenβt marks of the past, and this is a heart breaking reminder of that.
Praying for a safe journey back to the spirit world, Uncle β€οΈβπ©Ήπ¦
Today is the anniversary of the death of Jonathan Joss (King of the Hill, Parks and Rec). Jonathan Joss was an Indigenous, gay man who died protecting his transgender husband, on the first day of Pride month. Today we remember him and how he protected his family.
Once when I was in undergrad, someone described something as βproblematicβ in class and our professor was like, βThatβs cool, but βproblematicβ doesnβt really mean anything. It means that the thing youβre describing has a problem, and in and of itself thatβs not bad. Art, especially, should always have problems, or else itβs not interesting and not art, either. It sounds like youβre trying to say that this is bad, but you donβt want to say βbad.β Is that right?β
So from then on whenever one of us called something problematic, he would make us talk it out until we could name the βbadβ thing we were hinting at. In this particular class, 7/10 it was some type of oppression, and the remainder was like, βIβm uncomfortable because this is very new/confusing/pushing boundaries that made me feel safe.β
Once we stopped calling things βproblematicβ and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, βthatβs racistβ or βthatβs misogynisticβ or βew capitalism grossβ out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, βUhhh... Iβm not sure whatβs so bad?β and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.
Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I canβt help but think of this professor being like, βGood starting point, now letβs get specific.β I think when we have to commit to saying βthatβs ___β it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever weβre claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes itβs art, and it should be full of problems, because thatβs what art is.
Will rb this with alt text!! the full thing is literally JUST above the word limit for the box it gives ...... forgive me if the quality is awful, I'm not quite sure how to fix it πππ

The full text for the summary and character, with edits for screen reader accessibility, is hidden below the cut. /End ID]
Summary: A disabled self-described βEtsy witchβ and a tiny law firmβs junior accountant roommate together in a small house in Montreal, bought with the paganβs abusive late fatherβs inheritance. Corduroy is antagonistic, self-destructive, and struggles with people but has been deeply, painfully in love with Randy, their slightly emotionally constipated yet witty caregiver since high school. Working peripheral roles in the cityβs port mafia makes their livesβ¦ relatively uneventful, actually, and the few brushes they make with its inner workings make them thankful for where they are. The webcomic would focus on the duo as they navigate their joint lives, particularly the things that bring them together, and how their relationships, disability, mental health, and soon their feelings for each other play into it all.
The Character: Randy [born Randal] Martinez-Herrera is a 29 year old nonbinary mixed Argentinian afro-latina man[note: he uses masculine and feminine terms, no neutral terms]. He has medium brown skin with cool undertones, an almost-black brown buzzcut, and deep mahogany eyes [note: all characters have atypical eye colors for fun character design]. He has a dusting of facial hair, wide round-ish nose, and larger lower than top lip. Heβs fat and about 6 feet or 185 centimeters tall. His typical βuniformβ consists of a grape polo, navy blue jeans, and brown loafers. In his free time he enjoys cooking, singing, playing FPS games, guitar, and visual novels, reading romance novels, and reading/writing fanfiction for said romances and visual novels. Other interests of his include pure math, meteorology, and music theory. If life had panned out differently and teachers were paid more, he wouldβve enjoyed making a living as a math professor.
His stature and tendency for RBF may make him seem closed off, but anyone who gets to talking with him knows him as a smiley, soft-spoken, smart-mouthed extrovert who knows how to keep a conversation going. In truth, heβs more of an ambivert, and in private comes off as calmer and a bit of a complainer. His dry and sarcastic sense of humor pairs well with Corduroyβs casual-rude humor and the two often end up looking like the same snickering idiots they were in high school. Randy is equal parts emotionally constipated and intelligent: not open with anyone other than close friends, and defaults to irritation and/or quiet anger when upset, but able to recognize what heβs doing when it matters and step back to work through his feelings. He is making progress, if slow, to be more open with the people around him. Corduroy is one of the few people who he feels comfortable crying around/to, which he appreciates beyond words. At his core, heβs a bleeding heart who cares deeply for people; those who know him best would describe him as βkind, but not necessarily niceβ.
Randy offered to become Corduroyβs caregiver after being by their side through the worst period of their adult life, wherein they lost their father and permanently disabled themselves due to overwork, which altogether made them further incapable of independent living [for context: they had previous disability, undiagnosed moderate support needs autism, and an untreated TBI]. This period also alerted him to their practice of blood self-sacrifice as a method of worshipping the universe, connected in part to their job as a βspiritual advisorβ (read: curse bringer) for the CEOs of a local construction company. With recognizing it as mental instability, and his promise to always be there for them, heβs learned to live withβ though certainly dislikeβ the Meat Room. As their caregiver he is responsible for most βadminβ tasks(prescriptions, appointments, bills, occasional transit), though he also does smaller things like maintaining the house calendar and reminding them to take medications and care for their personal hygiene. They split house work, with respect to Corduroyβs chronic symptoms. Heβs been in love with them for nearly three years now, but is conflicted on confessing it. If he does, he risks losing their trust, or worse, pressuring them into an unwanted relationship. If he doesnβt, heβll keep hiding something that is just about ready to burst out of his chest.

just saw a 'comments' tab on someones blog you know where the following and likes tabs would be if enabled and it was just showing all the replies theyve made on peoples posts. this is fascinating when did this feature come out
EMERGENCY - ITS AUTO ENABLED!
if you've made replies on posts there is now a tab on your blog showing every post youve replied to and your reply.
if this is not what you want, either go to your blog and click comments and disable it from there or just go to your individual blogs setting pages. just change it from blue to grey if you dont want everyone to see your replies AND the post you're replying to
PLEASE BE ADVISED that it is set to disabled for blogs that have not made any replies but it will turn ON if you reply with that blog in the future.! i just tested it with my main, which was greyed out but it turned on the moment i left a test reply
figured i'd get the word out bc i have not seen a single mention of this and i'm sure there are plenty of people who maybe comment on things they don't want on display for everyone to see on their blog lol. you can still look at your replies with it toggled off just no one else can, like locking the following and likes list
so for some reason this feature was actually announced on the tumblr engineering blog. interesting choice not to reblog it to the staff or tumblr blog, esp considering they asked for user input on how to implement it, but i suppose considering the response to the last update maybe the replies would be too overwhelming...
so couple of clarifications. comments are disabled as default for primary blogs that have their likes disabled. they are seemingly enabled for all other blogs that have replied to posts
posts you comment on may show on your followers 'for you' page if you leave your replies publically available. they may, in the future, show in on your followers dashboard if your follower goes to their dash settings and enables this. apparently, if your likes are enabled, your followers can already see those on the dash if they've gone into preferences and selected to do so, which I was unaware of, and that seems to be disabled at default, but it's possible i disabled it previously and forgot about it ig
INCREDIBLY CONCERNING SPIKE IN ANTI-BLACKNESS IS HAPPENING RN.
Some of yall may have heard some of the shit that has been going on right now. I'm gonna give a quick run down of some of the stuff that has been happening. Note, this is not all, and it may never be all as much as I will try to update this.
(I am going to try and compile and briefly explain these as much as I can. There may be misinformation. Please inform me if I got something wrong.)
(This will also be updated with additional information and new topics added.)
1) Racist Chinese Dolls.
There are these dolls in China that are being called "Natasha" baby dolls. These dolls are not only very obvious caricatures of black people, but they are being advertised as a "stress relief" in which the people who buy these abuse it in various ways.
This links to a video of a compilation of the various "uses" of the doll. There are more in the replies of the tweet. (Another link to the same tweet just incase)
2) The Mocking, Abuse, and Dehumanization of Black Children.
Apart from the aforementioned doll, there are apparently people going around mocking, abusing, and dehumanizing black children.
Some people have compared black children to the doll.
Others have been going into African countries and have found ways to mock, abuse, and dehumanize black children for clout.
(Source 1 + Full Video) (Source 2)
There are more videos surfacing.
3) Black people are going missing.
Black people, especially children and teens have recently been going missing at an alarming rate. Some of these same people are turning up dead, deaths being ruled as "suicides."
While it generally unknown why many of these people are going missing, many suspect that their disappearances, deaths, and even lack of coverage is rooted in anti-blackness.
The following is a list of black people that have been reported missing as of recently. Please note that this is not a complete list (it may never be completed due to the fact that many of these disappearances will still occur as time passes) this may contain inaccurate information. Please inform me if that is the case.
By the time you see this, some of these people may have already been found either alive or deceased. This post will be updated overtime.
It is also heavily encouraged that you reblog this with more links to recent cases of missing black people if you are aware of any that arenβt included on this list.

With artfight coming up in a month, Iβm looking for new people to follow, and I wanted to see if it was ok if I asked Black artfighters to promote themselves below. Iβm super excited for this upcoming event and looking forward to finding new artists I love :D
