So I was reading @usedbandaidās comic Lore Olympus, and like any normal adult I started thinkingĀ ādid Hades and Persephone ever have any children together in greek mythology?ā Long story short, maybe? Theres a few instances where they could have a child together, but it could also be Zeusās because he raped Persephone while disguised as Hades (fuck you Zeus you had to fuck up the one normal couple in greek mythology)
However there is a goddess named Makaria who is only known as Hades daughter and the goddess of the blessed death. Sheās mentioned in 3 lines of text and not much is known about her or her life.Ā
I really liked the idea of the goddess of the blessed death, It reminded me of the death advocate Caitlin Doughty, and death doula Aula Arthur. Both people who are members of the Order of the Good Death.Ā
So I decided to design Makaria as if she was Hades and Persephoneās child in Lore Olympus. I took Caitlin as inspiration for her looks, and for what she does as the goddess of blessed death I took inspiration from Aula. Like her mother Persephone she loves flowers and can make flowers bloom, but like her father she must help and guide people. Where her father works after death, she works before and during. Makaria is like the goddess of death doulas and is there to comfort the dying, bring them flowers, hold their hand, and to make their passing painless, comforting, and blessed.Ā
Then of course like the little nerd I am I though āher mom and dad are pink and blue and when you mix those colors you get purple!ā so I was thinking sheād have purple skin. However so many characters in the lore olympus world have purple skin, but whatever.Ā I also like the idea of her having white hair like her dad, and theres a painting depicting her where she has white hair, but when I was sketching it contrasted better to be dark.
I also had her hold lilies since theyĀ āsymbolically signify that the soul of the deceased has been restored to the state of innocenceā
Fan art of one of my favorite under-appreciated rival couples from Harvest Moon animal parade. Candace is so sweet and Julius is so flamboyant that some people think theyād clash, but I like to think Candace mellows Julius down and he helps Candace be more confidant. I also love the idea of them becoming friends because of there shared love of clothing and slowly realizing they have feelings for each other, then Candace gets scared an pushes Julius away (leading to there first rival event)Ā
I also wanted to design a dress for Candace that wouldnāt be too outside her comfort zone, but was a bit more fashion forward then her usual maxi skirt and sweater.Ā

Just a cute doodle of Mini moon and her guardian pokemon. I didnāt finish Celebi because Celebi is weird and when i draw them it always looks more onionish then normal.Ā
But yeah since mini moon is a mini moon I feel like Cosmog would be her kindred spirit, and since sheās small and has the ability to travel through time I feel like Celebi would assist her, and shiny Celebi is pink, itās perfect.Ā
This little cutie was a spur of the moment inspiration that came while I was at a dollar store. Yes she's a doll I found at a dollar store, and I don't have any before faceup pictures but she looked rough. The drawing I have there of her hair in a single bun is sort of what she used to look like. I rerooted her hair using some donations from a Lagoona doll and left over blue from a different project. Then I made her a little dress, good luck charm and hair accessory. She lives on my desk now and I wish I had picked up a few more of these dolls at the dollar store because they are so cute when you give them some loving. And sheās a dollar? Like what?
Heres some progress shots of the Amira Red doll iām working on. Iām using anĀ Elena of Avalor doll I got from target because I really liked the skin tone and the smirk and the more cat shaped eyes. Iāve used red and yellow yarn and some chalk pastels to color the hair to make it look like fire, then i used black yarn and some of her old hair to create a flocked look on the bottom half. However itās been like three months since i did the hair and I still haven't given her a face or decided what outfit I want to do.
So if you have a suggestion of what your favorite outfit of her is let me know (they all seem kinda hard to make on doll scale but iāll figure something out)

My cosplay I did for Animinneapolis 2018. I cosplayed Tea Gardner/Anzu Mazaki from Yugioh. My friend @wondychan cosplayed Yugi but I donāt have any photos of the two of us.Ā
I made the skirt from an old table cloth. I altered a red shirt for her halter top, and I made fake clip on bangs since I donāt have any. I did my own makeup and nails and my dad took the photos.Ā
This is my older sister. For her birthday I decided to make her a dress using some fabric from Doctor Who. Iām not the biggest Doctor Who fan myself but she loves it, so thatās what matters.Ā
