I’ve always felt like these were cut down on purpose.

I really like these phrases and plan on spreading this knowledge.

The reason most people haven’t heard of these is because they’re not the actual phrases or intended meanings. People later create appendages to alter the meaning to fit something they find rings more true. Implying the original quotes aren’t real is horsecrunkle.

This isn’t true in all cases. “Blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb” is far older than the simpler and inverse meaning “Blood is thicker than water”.
