Sable hadn’t even flinched at the reaction from the vampire. She was all too used to displays of defense, she had power, after all. Though, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes at what was said to her. “My kind may be naturally drawn to yours, but I’m also not blind.”

Sable’s eyebrow raised into her hairline and she shook her head. There was a natural allure to vampires, Sable had fallen prey to it in her younger years, but in time she’d become a little less reckless. Had seen so many who were, in some way, impressive, but one with a god complex was run of the mill, really. “I’m the one who killed her.” A smirk formed on Sable’s face, eyes going pitch black as the shadows around them darkened. “I control the Hollow. A measly vampire like you is unimpressive. Attractive, sure, but supreme you are not.” There was an echo to Sable’s voice as she spoke, but in a blink things were back to normal. 

Nadia startled, the vampire reflex to bare fangs and hiss triggering. When normality resumed, she recovered quickly, cursing in an old Slavic tongue. Touché.

Sable’s eyes rolled and she shook her head at the dramatics of the vampire before her. “I’m not the one aiming to impress someone, now am I?” Her arms crossed over her chest. “Though, I wonder, do you know the legend of the Hollow and it’s hybrid host?”

Sable’s head tilted, red locks shifting in front of her eyes, and she laughed. The shadows around them shook as she laughed, the faintest hint of an echo to her voice. “Is that supposed to impress me?” Sable fancied vampires, but they’d long since stopped impressing her. There were infinitely more beings in the world that topped them, Sable herself now among them.

“I’ve been told I have a god complex—not true. What I have is self-awareness. I am a supreme being.”

“WOAH,” Nadia said as she withdrew from the woman’s neck. “What is in that cocktail?”

“That’s a good point, but being a stereotype isn’t great.”

“A perfect archetype sounds better.”

“Three?”

“And maybe I don’t quite know what to say, but I’m here in your doorway.”

“Is this a strip club or a comedy club? These men are so easy to manipulate, it’s hilarious.”
