12-30-18... 2 years with the love of my life and forever to go π
2 years ago today, on Dec 8th 2016, I saw the love of my life in person for the first time. For the first time ever I heard her voice, held her hand, hugged her, and kissed her lips. On that night... I found my home π
Tumblr was where I first saw naked trans bodies presented as natural and beautiful. Not as objects of pornography, or as something freaky, just beautiful human bodies. It was very important to me. It disturbs me this is being taken away.

Iβve been looking at myself in the mirror for the last 23 years and seeing a stranger. Now that I recognize the man looking back at me I feel as if I could stare forever.
My relationship with masculinity
I used to be very, very ashamed that I identified so much with masculinity. Back before I figured out I was a trans man, I was constantly fed this picture of men as bad, evil beings who lived off violence. I was told so many times how masculinity was inherently toxic and bad. And femininity was put on a pedestal, as this perfect thing. I was shown this picture: long hair, dresses, dignified strength. βThis is what you should be,β I was told. So much so that I shut away my masculinity and tried to be a βperfect girlβ, just how people wanted me to be. Never mind how it made me miserable. Never mind how much I wished I could be masculine. I was so, so scared of somehow turning evil if I expressed my masculinity. Instead, I mistook my dysphoria as internalized misogyny. If I could just accept my femininity, if I could just conform to this thing people wanted me to be, everything would be alright. But it wasnβt. It took years of me suppressing my true nature and wilting away in depression to finally put my fears aside and to start showing my masculinity. At first, I felt like I was betraying the entirety of womanhood, but after a while I noticed just how much better it made me feel. I started overcoming this intense shame around it. The depression improved. Soon, I noticed that there was something more going on, next to just being masculine. I started experimenting with gender, identifying as nonbinary for a while because I was still scared of the idea that I might be a man.
However, one day it clicked. It had taken me the best part of my teenage years, right into my early twenties to finally get there, but I understood. I was a man. And I was both relieved and absolutely terrified. I didnβt want it to be true, but at the same time I knew it was. I came out, decided to transition. And as my body grew more masculine, I finally started being at peace with myself.
I now know that I can choose. I can choose what kind of a man I want to be. I can be masculine, my own kind of masculine, without being a burden on others. I only wish I could have figured that out sooner.
iβm getting real tired of this all or nothing emotion thing

Missing my baby since I had to come home after moving her into her college dorm 3.5 hours away this past weekend. I won't get to see her again for another week. I can't wait to have her in my arms again, I love her so much.
This is a shout-out to all of those who cannot present how they want because itβs too dangerous to come out
Shoutout to all of those who have to present in secret
Shoutout to all of those who bind in secret
Shout out to all of those who are forced to present differently according to where they are and who theyβre with because in some situations it could be dangerous
This is a shoutout to all of those who cannot be who they are, my love goes out to you. It truly does get better. Iβm here for you. Talk to me anytime
