My arcana mc Maya has an illness one that is not the red plague but something similar to a mental illness (like depression). For now I'm calling it "Vacua Cordis" here's some info about it ;)

Most EXCITINGLY we get this kinda-blurry but very intriguing concept art of Valdemar’s estate, and also the name of their estate…!

Okay I couldn’t wait any longer to post this (´ﾟωﾟ｀)

So in various reverse ends where the realms merge, I imagine that everyone who can has teamed up to try and find a way to undo what has been done. Vee ends up finding the Devil’s heart on their own while on an expedition to bring it back to the other major arcana, who will be able to use it to start fixing the world. Unable to move it by themselves, they instead decide to just. Become the New Devil. Why not? Cut out the extra steps.

As they start separating the threads of the tangled world they put everyone in their own little David Bowie Labyrinth Bubbles to keep them safe (or imprisoned). Some of them will never even realize they’ve been put their own little secret realm, while others will make it their mission to break out.

1. Apprentice Name

Maria Myrrha-Nova

My name is made up of two bitternesses at once. The name Maria has many meanings, each of which resonates in her and in me. But most often the name is interpreted precisely as "to be bitter". Myrrh or сми́рна is a gum-resin extracted from a small, thorny tree species of the genus Commiphora, also means "bitter". I note that in my native language the surname comes from the word смире́ние – "humility".

2. Birthplace

Maria has almost no memories of her homeland, only blurry images. This land is not on the map, but it is supposedly located much southeast of Nevivon. A land of rivers and lakes, thick fogs, will-o'-the-wisps, colorful berries and herbs. The prototype of her homeland is the East Siberian taiga.

3. Known Family

Strong innate abilities for magic came to Maria primarily from her mother. Her family on her mother's side is from Firent. Grandmother – Maera, a rich and important woman, single-handedly raised three daughters: Astra or Astralene, Helene and Galene. Astralene is deeply religious and has never left Firent. Helene is the middle of the sisters, an infinitely kind and bright woman, and it is she who leaves her magic shop in Vesuvia to Maria. The youngest, Galene – Maria’s mother. Only she knows the reasons and circumstances under which she decided to leave the warm Firent and move to the cold taiga. Perhaps…, among other reasons, there was also Maria’s father – Pavel, originally from an indefinite steppe region, which also lies much east of Nevivon. Her father talked a lot about the steppe, but almost nothing about his family. It is only known that he also had two sisters. Mother, in turn, talked about the sea and the wonderful fruits of Firent. Since Maria was born and raised far from both the sea and the steppe, all these things up to a certain point were perceived by her as distant beautiful fairytales.

I know the reasons why my mother moved here, but i will not bring it here. Sometimes it’s even nice that Maria doesn't remember anything or anyone from her family. :^)

The meaning of the name Astra is "star", Helene is "light", also strongly related to the concepts of "sunshine" and "moon" (selene), and Galene is "calm sea".

Maria was supposed to be named after her aunt (Helene), but for some reason she was named after her grandmother.

4. Favorite Hobby

Herbalism. In the setting, it is called "green magic" and is a specialization of its own, but for her it is more of a hobby, apparently from childhood. Sewing and embroidery are also enjoyable activities, during which she is sure to quietly sing songs in her native language!!!

5. Favorite Color

It is no secret that shades of blue are about her, but shades of burgundy are no less dear to her.

On a subconscious level, a deep dark green color strongly responds to me. I cannot say that i love this color, but it is the color of the forest and therefore causes the strongest warm homesickness.

Roasted vegetables – eggplants, sweet peppers, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, large red olives and mushrooms! Definitely with fresh-baked bread, probably also roasted as well.

Maria is very easy to buy with a handful of taiga berries. Whether it's a drink, a pastry or ANYTHING, as long as it includes berries, she wants it. The dearest miracle for her heart, she considers raspberries (a frequent berry of her homeland!)

To save face and keep yourself conscious and aware with all her might, when there is a ringing from fear in her ears, darkness before her eyes, and her heart seems to have stood across her throat. Maria can equally get along with anyone from M6, but to our common grief... Her main and completely hopeless love interest is Valdemar. She tries to avoid this fact, hides it from others and even tries to hide it from herself. This nonsense defies rationalization, and brings so much mental suffering that the prospect of physical pain simply ceases to frighten. In addition, the most painful thing in this whole story is by no means to love-suffer herself, but to make someone else suffer by her silent "deception".

It's hard to guess if Valdemar is aware of this festival of hopelessness in the one’s tiny human skull, but she hopes they are NOT.

She lives firmly on self-deception. That she is brave, that she is strong in spirit, that she is able to feel towards anyone from the M6 something other than dry respect. Alone with herself, the feeling of wrongness intensifies and makes itself felt with cold anxiety in the back of the head and between the shoulder blades.

Asra! There is no closer person, he is like family to her. She appreciates Asra very much and is deeply grateful for everything he has ever done for her and continues to do. Even with all his purely human flaws and the load of mistakes made, Asra remains a wonderful comrade and friend.

19. A Recurring Dream

She walks on the fresh snow barefoot and does not feel the cold. Snowy silence swallows every sound or rustle. It seems as if the snow itself is whispering unintelligibly about something of its own from everywhere. Snowflakes cling to clothes and very slowly melt on the skin – the surest feeling. If she lingers in this dream, she will come to a place full of old objects that are supposed to be her own. Some things seem familiar and some do not. It's always dark and a terrible mess. The dream is so realistic and detailed... It's amazing how much the subconscious can store in itself.

She goes out to her balcony in the middle of the night and watches an incredible storm. The wind carries random objects along the streets, lightning cuts the sky open, thunder is deafening. A heavy downpour begins, but water quickly turns into fierce fire. Fury rages so fast that she barely realizes that the balcony under her feet begins to crumble. She tries to take shelter from the disaster in the room, but the hurricane swirls things inside as well. There is nothing left but to wake up.

The most realistic nightmare is about the darkening corners of her own house. It’s embarrassing to be frightened by some shadowy silhouettes, but the dream itself makes her feel overwhelming fear and keeps her in a dream with an ice-cold grip, not letting go until she is completely exhausted. The worst thing is that the room after waking up looks exactly as it was just a moment ago, haunted by a gaping void.

20. My Reverse Ending

Her will weakens, she gives in to her weaknesses and decides to run away from herself and the world by making deals. First of all, she runs away from her fragile human nature – from pain and bitterness. Then she leaves the limiting system of internal morality, subsequently losing her sense of guilt. She likes how with each new deal her old feelings respond in a new way. She likes the newfound lightness that feelings of irresponsibility and impunity bring. She becomes cruel and selfish, she no longer wants to help anyone. Now she wants only more and more earthly pleasures. She becomes dependent on The Devil, and it is possible that he becomes her patron arcana. She is smart, so she keeps The Fool's freedom tightly to herself, but can this really be called freedom, after all?
