@swshows week: Day 4 - Underrated Character(s)

Trace and Rafa Martez - from just us versus everyone else to risking their lives for the Rebellion I love them! Trace is adorable, and Rafa is so much fun (I wanted to gif every one of her expressions!), and their sisterly bond is so complicated and interesting. They can be naive, reckless, and selfish (their lives have afforded them little opportunity to be anything else), but they need just the smallest encouragement to show how brave and kind they can be. I love that Rafa's protectiveness has twisted into controlling selfishness, and that Trace's youth and inexperience are dangerous to her and those around her, and I love the way they learn and grow. I love the contrast between their skill level and Ahsoka's and how it contextualises what the Jedi do and why they're needed to do it. I love the way their character arcs mirror and weave through Ahsoka's - they only get the growth they need because Ahsoka falls into their lives, but Ahsoka only recovers her inner strength and sense of purpose because of them, too. I love how cute they are with Omega and how quickly they (Trace especially) become protective of her. And most of all, I love how they are just ordinary kids who decide to try harder, be braver, and look out for anyone who needs them.
