The thing about people talking about how much they hate children is that I've never seen any correlation between "openly expressed loathing of children" and "support for policies that actively harm children."
In contrast, when people go out of their way to tell you how much they love children and want to protect children, it's at least a 50/50 chance that you are about to hear support for the most actively evil assault on children's rights and dignity that you can possibly imagine.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders has built an entire political persona on being a "mama bear" who protects innocent children from groomers and also she has changed the law so that immigrant children are literally risking life and limb to working slaughterhouses instead of going to school. It is an example so cartoonish you'd think I'd made it up! But these are not unrelated political positions! A suffocating vVctorian cosseting for white me and a Dickensian drudgery for black and brown thee!
and then thereβs the correlation between people openly expressing loathing of children and then also ultimately having misogynist takes due to their hatred of children (and by extension their mothers) so like.
I mean, yes AND. Yes, it's important that it's silly/unrealistic to talk about "children", especially small children, separate from the women who care for those children and who are likely to find themselves in a position where if they can't bring their child someplace, they can't go. Yes, we live in a time where we especially love creepy psychosexual misogyny where people love to see a woman with children and know that this is proof that she's a slut who had sex. We need to be alert to how normalized misogyny is.
AND, one of the ways that misogyny is normalized is the constant use of the image of the childless career woman, a bitch who hates children and loves oppressing other women because her cold, unmotherly soul makes her a villain. This is another kind of tyranny of vulnerability where women who have violated the patriarcal order to have children must constantly answer for those this unwomanly choice as an attack on other, better, women and also an attack on vulnerable, helpless little children.
AND, because of this misogyny a lot of attention is paid on social media to exhortations against this supposed very serious and oppressive tendency for people to hate children and insult children and find children unpleasant to be around. Much less attention is paid to the pretty universal correlation between "pro-family" politicians and policies that starve children.
So, sure, but why did you feel the need to say that on this post in this, the summer of 2026?
People who respond like that to women (and yes, women in particular's) edgy online posts about hating being around kids just make me laugh. Easier to try to guilt trip random online women than it is to acknowledge the right-wing efforts to disenfranchise them.
I don't disagree that the general "lefty"-liberal-even democrat-whatever-sphere could do with an image overhaul where people change their approach with spreading their message and making their side more appealing. However, since I am also specifically blackpilled libtard, I know that that the image overhaul will essentially have to take an "anti-woke left or democrat" approach. Idpol is the shit that pisses the wishy-washy "swing" people off. A lot of people who make the "ugh, leftists are so insufferable" or "democrats need to rethink their messaging" never explicitly say this. I think it is because this message is implied, but also I think there is a portion of people who think their idpol is sacred but it's that other shit that is offputting. It's like....no.....all of it is bad to the people you want to attract.
People tend to throw the baby out with the bathwater, especially when they finally come across gender/race/sexuality discourse that is so stupid that even progressive people scoff at it.
Yes, telling people they are the various "-ists" is offputting as a recruitment strategy.
(But lowkey that shit is true a good chunk of the time)
(They actually support "the other side" because that side openly indulges in their beliefs that at least pretended to be on the DL once upon a time. I don't think they care for whatever economic advantages you claim to want to provide. This isn't even groundbreaking, this very thing has been discussed for decades in the US).
(So, really the most realistic good marketing to do is to just be "cool" and don't bring up too much idpol, and you might get some apoliticals to maybe vote for you e.g. Mamdani, but that's about it. And being a male politician helps. Idk what else to say).
I guess TL;DR is that people are wholly unaware about how much watering down of their movement they will have to do to be more appealing to the average person. Even some of the biggest critiquers have a higher threshold for idpol talk than the average person.

Complaints of vanity sizing are a little bit of a meme to me....perhaps true to an extent just because of the reality of the customers in the U.S., but also there are plenty of clothes that are sizing as expected. The occasional awkward fitting garment and having to size up/down is understandable when you are getting standardized clothing instead of something tailored to you. I remember a girl working at a clothing shop recommended I size down to trying an xs dress instead of s because "everything is vanity sized! it should be a better fit than s!".
I mean. It fit, but you would be able to practically see the food moving through my bowels because of how fucking tight it was. It's almost like my normal size it a better/more comfortable fit.

I am tainted by cynicism and I do have to reel it in, but I don't think I'm wrong about the following sentiment I'm going to share. It honestly helps prevent developing a perpetual irritation towards PSAs and cultural sensitivity modules. Even the "teach men not to do xyz". It's all cope because it is very hard to come up with a solution to deal with people who act maliciously, especially if their maliciousness is basically backed up societally. We have to act like it is some error in their upbringing or lack of education, because to acknowledge the reality that often these types of bad behaviors are not due to pure ignorance is, well, painful to keep it simple. It's also so deeply entrenched in all facets of society that trying to tackle the problem at its root would basically cause society to explode. So, more palatable and gracious "solution" is the final, feeble push at trying to change minds and hearts (or really, pushing the "we tried" button). I just recognize, click through the various modules and their quizzes, and keep it pushing.
I don't care for nuance in this situation, but I also feel like my opinion is not that controversial--in fact it is probably intuitive. It is difficult, if not impossible for me to value the feelings or even feel outraged if the mega-asshole gets offended or bullied themselves, lmao. Like, don't nobody care that you got hurt.
Context: surgeon who loves being overly offensive and ~*triggering*~ da libs got bent out of shape because someone matched his energy. Very hard to feel anything besides outrage that he has the audacity to act like a wounded bird over this.

everyone who reads/watches heated rivalry must also read the entirety of killing stalking kind of like how they make liberal arts majors take a few maths and physics courses.
So it is already too late to reverse anything since a lot of internet bullshit has breached containment into "normie" spaces, but I really mourn the days when it was restricted to only those who are chronically online.
I'm friends with two classmates who I am slowly starting to softly-distance from because they insist on being close with this sleazy asshole who is almost 40 because he has a trust fund and wants to buy his way into friendship. They invited him to what was supposed to be a girls night.
This man drops 4Chan and right-wing twitter shit in between his more normal conversation topics--stuff that goes over their heads meanwhile I made the mistake of not hiding my facial expressions because a mere reference of that shit irl amongst normal people made me cringe so he picked up that I knew what he was talking about.
Anyways since that night I have had to make sure I got an accurate headcount on who all is going to a night out before RSVPing, because I am not so broke that I cannot pay for my own cocktails and have to be friends with a weirdo
This is partly why when some peace-love-whatever people condescend to people who are more "strict" about the people they choose to be friends with i.e. only friends with Dems or lefty people in general, I get annoyed. Yes, I do befriend nearly everyone, but sometimes I see their "real face" and basically have to build up a mental wall towards them. Because it is very naive to think that it is only lefty people who "inappropriately insert politics (or just political topics in general) everywhere."
When your otherwise lukewarm center-right friends start laughing at unfunny racist jokes like a bunch of airheaded bimbos it is very hard to see them in a neutral light afterwards.

I have no dog in the Timmy Chalamet opera and ballet-gate situation. I just think it is funny he is getting torn apart by people, however this could just be a Kardashian-esque outrage marketing thing so it makes it slightly less amusing.
Regardless, I think true #equality is having men torn to shreds over relative nothingburgers as well.

the reason I casually say charlie kirk's wife had him killed is not necessarily because I believe it, but because nothing stops the right from spouting random conspiracy theories about political enemies, so i'll say whatever the hell I want when one of their idols dies. also it's funny. the entire charlie kirk death is inherently funny. he was in the middle of answering a question related to mass shootings when he died.
