I am working on an AR project, where I am constructing a Latin American retablos is Canada. I’m not at all religious, but if you look at enough retablos, you see that they are more about community and wish fulfillment. They are even low key blasphemous through the lens of orthodox Catholicism bordering on false idolatry, but they come from an earnest origin of faith. My sister is named Suyapa, so I am definitely including the Virgin of Suyapa in it.
