Kids are funny.
I just had a random memory of a friends’ kid when she was about six or seven, when she cornered a couple of us at a get-together and says “wanna know what my dad had for lunch?”
We figured this was, while unusual, a pretty straight-forward conversation starter. “Sure”, we said.
We were NOT prepared. She went on this EPIC storytelling monologue about the restaurant and Italy and the art on the walls and some dramatic story she made up ABOUT the art on the walls. We were enraptured. No idea what was going on but by god we were hooked. At no point does she mention food.
The next week, similar get-together with the same people. Same friend I’m talking to. Same child walks up. “Wanna know what my dad had for lunch?”
But NOW we’re prepared, we’re excited. We’re about to hear some SHIT. We grin in anticipation. “Sure!”
“A salad.”
She walks off, seemingly unaware she just set up the funniest fucking week-long joke my friend and I had ever heard

Some more texture and effects assignments I did in various classes. As per usual (at this stage!) none of the models/objects were made by myself. I did the camera movement in the video, is all, and all of the texturing in the other three.
I was really proud of how the skateboard turned out, as well as the look of the wall and fabric in that second to last photo. That fabric took forever, needing several layers to get the proper look with the flower-print border.
Lighting and Color studies, anyone?
The models and scenes were, as usual, provided to me by my instructor and made by someone who wasn't me. On these first six all I did was the lights. Anywhere you see light, that is my doing.
I did all the textures as well as the lights on these firefly jars. Everything from the glass to the birdhouse and water was textured and colored by yours truly.
Speaking of UV Maps, have some weapons I textured! The red sword was for the assignment, the green was cause I got extra credit for making a lightsaber, and the hammer was for fun.
I decided to go with Alien vibes with the color of the blood spatter, hence the Magenta-purple-pink.
Have some robot friends, featuring a UV map. The models were provided by my instructor, and I textured them!
It was really fun to work with these little guys and their bee friend. Playing around with the metalness settings to get the right look was a lot of fun.
Sketchbook Dump! Here's some snapshots from my sketchbook. The flowers are a white Nightshade and Angels Trumpet, both highly poisonous and deadly.
The third was a practice piece for drawing human figures. The last one was me designing a different-species version of one of my original characters. This design is actually now a reference and inspiration source for the design of a new OC I'm working on!

A throwback to some of my very first canvas paintings, back when I was in my teens. The ocean scape was my first ever painting on canvas, using oil paints for the first time. Toothless took quite a while, with the number of layers and the texturing of the scales.
As an animation student, I was given the opportunity to texture this character model however I wanted for an assignment.
This model isn't mine, it was created by one of my instructors. I did the effects and coloring. The inspiration for this design was a combination of various Water Nymph and Siren mythologies, with a little Extra-Terrestrial alien sprinkled in.

Have a look at this old guitar I turned into a shelf to hold my Tarot and Oracle cards.
Unfortunately, the neck of the guitar snapped immediately after I mounted it on the wall, sending wooden splinters all over my carpet, so I never got a picture of it hung up with the cards.
The design I painted it with was based off the designs of the two decks. The pavement-grey base, green accent, and white stars are from my Tarot cards, and the seashells, crowns, and witch hats represent the three suits of cards in my Oracle deck: Princess, Witch, and Mermaid. The gold stars and designs are also from the Oracle cards.

Scultping with Play-Doh helps me focus during lectures, so it's not uncommon for me to have a tub (or two!) sitting beside me during class. Roses are my personal favorite to make, both blooming ones and the curled-up look we all imagine when we hear "roses" 🌹
Throwing some embroidery into the mix with this Five Nights Are Freddy's: Security Breach - Daycare Attendant themed set.
My poor mother's confusion at finding an embroidery hoop with dripping blood and the words "Bad Children Must Be Punished" hanging on my wall out of the blue and having no idea what it meant or where it was from. She never questioned Knock Knock or New Friend, which were hung beside my bedroom door and and the wall opposite it, respectively.

Mural Wall in my old room at my parents' house. This Angler Fish themed painting was inspired by some of my favourite quotes that have been my light in the dark moments of my life. I plan to recreate it someday, as it was eventually painted over when I moved out.
