#Seriously. Just get married. Just move to New York and live in this shitty little one-bedroom studio apartment together while you try to make ends meet. Move someplace slightly better when one of you gets a raise. Meet each other for lunch dates during work. Call each other ‘babe’ in public. Talk about having babies; decide to get a cat first. Fake-fight about how Brittany spoils the cat rotten; ignore the fact that Santana actually spoils the cat more. Balance your bank account together on Sunday afternoons. Pretend that you don’t hear the phone when Brittany’s mother calls and you don’t want to talk to her because, you know… lady kisses. Find the Christmas presents that you buy for each other hidden around the house in the randomest places come June and November and the day before New Year’s. Talk about having babies. Decide that maybe you might really want to do that. Do it. Don’t get enough sleep. Freak out over the bills. Ask each other why you did this again; never actually mean it, because you already know. When the baby cuts his lip running into the table, take him to the urgent care and yell at the doctors because—hello—your son is fucking bleeding, can’t you assholes see that?! Tell Santana to calm down because she’s crying more than the baby and it’s kinda really upsetting him. Ask her if she wants a sucker afterwards because she was so good while the nurse puts in the sutures. Smile when she pinches you for it. Later on that night, when you’re in bed together and he’s soundly asleep, admit that you totally felt scared, too. After three year’s worth of cuts and scrapes, new words, pulling the cat’s tail, and first days at preschool, ask each other if maybe you might be up for doing all this again. Laugh when Santana asks if maybe you should just get another cat first. Spend every morning curled up in each other’s arms. Repeat as often as possible every day you can for the rest of your life.
