Kate grins sleepily at her husband’s wonder, Castle peering down at their children, fingers brushing lightly over their backs.

They’d escaped to the Hamptons after getting the okay from the doctor, the little family of 5 in desperate need of alone time since the twins birth.

Glancing towards the ceiling Kate can practically see their daughter, sprawled across the bed diagonally with the little stuffed giraffe Alexis had slipped into Lily’s crib many moons ago clutched in her hands.

Castle had worn her out on the beach, her little girl squeals of delight at the ocean creeping close wafting up through the breeze to blow through the house.

Setting her book aside now she watches her husband as he studies Jake and Reece, joy and amazement dancing across his features.

“They’re twins, Castle. They’re gonna be small. At least they are healthy.”

He smiles at her, that gorgeous grin that stops her heart for a moment, and nods at her always astute logic. A tender kiss to both their heads draws a pathetic mewl from Jake, his tiny fist curling further into the blanket as he shifts in his slumber.

He settles on the window seat beside her, bestowing a kiss upon her lips before whispering, “you were right you know.”

She lets the sound of the ocean outside the window, her husband’s steady heartbeat thumping under her ear as she cuddles into his chest, lull her to sleep. “Right about what?”

Giving her hand a quick squeeze, his silent I love you settling her emotions, he chuckles.
