The High Lady and the High Lord of the Day Court☀️🤍

I like to think of this drawing as maybe their wedding, or mating ceremony?? Or when thev go together to see the Day Court🌸🦊 But it's up for interpretation haha

I knoooow I'm late for Elucien week, but I really really wished to make something for them, because I'm in love with this couple🥹

And partly because it takes so long for the book details to be revealed😭

I wanted to point out some details, so that you get to enjoy this drawing as much as I did when adding them!!

Firstly, if you look at Elain's hair and at Lucien collar, you'll see that I drew some Jasmine flowers, because that's what Elain smells like;

Elain has the pearl earrings Lucien gifted her, along with some pearls scattered through her hair. I found out that pearls represent purity and innocence, just like Elain🥹 And they also quiet strength, love and loyalty🤍

I gave Elain a ring with solar motifs. Engagement ring??👀 who knows??

Both her and Lucien have solar motifs on their clothes, to highlight his heritage;

She's tenderly touching his scar and through this, I wanted to show that he's finally found someone who truly loves him, after a life of suffering and being unwanted. Pure joy for both of them🫶🏻

It was a bit of a challenge to put this drawing together, but I may have succeeded:)) I hated it for a very long time and I had to keep restarting it, because something just looked off. But I'm glad I did, because I kept all of my previous attempts and I can finally see the improvement:)) Can you believe I started this almost 2 years ago??💀

Btww I know I kinda disappeared from tumblr, and I shouldn't have, but I had so much work to do for uni preparation, that I didn't have the energy to check it here and I was kinda avoiding losing time on here🙈 but I'm back (don't believe me 100%, I tend to disappear haha)

Oh bless your heart. Let me help you understand some things:

1. It’s not hard to understand that Eluciens want Elain to get to know Lucien, hopefully fall in love with Lucien, and choose him. (Just like we wanted with Feyre and Rhys in book 1). Again, this isn’t hard to understand.

2. We don’t want Elain miserable. We want Elain happy and thriving.

3. The reason I ship Elucien is because I actually like Elain. Lucien actually genuinely cares about Elain and her mental / physical health. He also respects Elain’s choices. He would treat her like a queen and we all know it. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional.

4. But if you really want to get into canon let’s do it. How about the quote from Elain in ACOSF when she said she didn’t want ANY male. Guess what? That includes Azriel.

Let’s look at another canon scene where Elain returns the necklace back to Azriel and doesn’t look back.

After Azriels bonus chapter, Elain and Azriel don’t have any interactions together for the rest of ACOSF.

5. And you saying that “we don’t need women to have their healing journey revolve around a guy” (I’m paraphrasing here) is HILARIOUS coming from the elriels who literally center Elain’s healing journey around Azriel.

6. Elain’s journey is tied to Vassa, Koschei, and the lake. That’s ELAINS plot-line. She’s the one who had the vision about Vassa, the lake, and Koschei. We wouldn’t know about Koschei without Elain’s visions. You know what other character is tied to that plot-line? Lucien. Her mate. But first and foremost it’s ELAINS storyline.

It’s not hard to figure out that Elain’s journey will take her to that lake. It’s heavily foreshadowed, along with her not belonging to the Night Court. Sarah made it so obvious I almost feel bad for you guys.

7. "Healing doesn't need romance." Cool. Neither do dragons, magic siphons, immortal faeries, magical mating bonds, or half the plot devices in this series. Yet here we are... reading a fantasy romance.

You don't have to ship Gwynriel. That's called having a preference. But pretending your preference is objectively more feminist because you've psychoanalyzed fictional characters and projected real-world therapy language onto them? That's a you problem.

These aren't real people. Sarah decides whether a relationship is healing, healthy, symbolic, or doomed because she literally wrote the characters.

8. And it's funny how "don't tie a woman's story to a man" only becomes a talking point when it's a ship you don't like. Every couple in this series ties two characters' stories together. That's... the romance genre.

So where does this end? Are we going to start writing think pieces about Off Campus because Hannah is a sexual assault survivor who falls in love? Are we going to attack every romance author who's ever written a survivor finding love? Are we going to campaign against every fated mates book because apparently fated mates is now inherently problematic? WHY ARE YOU READING SJM

9. Romance authors write conflict because conflict creates stories. If every character was emotionally perfect before page one, there wouldn't be much of a novel.

At the end of the day, we're arguing over immortal fae in a book series that isn't even finished.

I wanted to thank everyone who took the time to interact with my posts this past week and celebrate Elucien with us in whatever form they could.

Thesleepyfox encompassed everything I am hoping for in an Elucien book: a reformed rake trope bordering on historical romance with fantastical elements.

@kt-reads-things @lulufoxlainfawn and I have it on good authority that there was a scandalous kiss reported at the Day Court's end of summer ball last night! You can support the artwork here!

Elain Archeron and Lucien Vanserra caused quite a stir when the latter pulled the former in for a kiss during the opening dance of the evening. High Lady Feyre Archeron was pleasantly surprised by the development, while High Lord Rhysand looked on in amusement.

Two limping courtiers from the Autumn Court, who asked to remain anonymous, "had never seen such a thing in the ballroom! The nerve of young couples these days!"

According to an eyewitness, Nesta Archeron did not take well to the Autumn Court representatives gawking at her sister and left them with a few smashed toes for their troubles (allegedly).

Multiple sources confirm that the two kissing faeries quickly absconded from the dance floor together and were not seen for the remainder of the evening...

Eternity has quickly become one of my favorite movies. It’s so funny but also tells a beautiful love story that had me sobbing by the end. The romance between the main characters is something that will stick with me forever.

In the end, the love between Joan and Larry was selfless. No matter what the other had to give up, even if that was each other, they would do it if it meant seeing the other happy. If that isn’t the most Elucien thing I’ve ever heard, I don’t know what is 🧡

Not every scar is visible, many are carried quietly and hidden behind smiles. Elain and Lucien have both been through so much in their lives, but they still choose not to give up.

I think one of the most beautiful things that will come from their mating bond is the chance to heal with someone who understands the weight of quiet pain without needing it explained.

Love can’t erase the past, but it can make healing a little easier. I really believe they’ll find the peace they’ve both been searching for in each other 💖

When we bought this idea to @luciensdefenseattorney , she didn't hesitate at all- we agreed Elain HAD to be Harry Styles and obviously Lucien would be y/n thanks to his very put-in-a-bunable hair. Forever greatful to Ce for being such a wonderful friend but also for having the same sense of humor as me. No idea has ever been too absurd and ily :)

The truth is that they don't like how the bonus chapter ended, so instead of engaging with what was actually written, they invented the narrative that it isn't important.

A bonus chapter is still written by the author and it was sold by the publisher. It's still part of the story she's choosing to tell. You don't have to like the implications, but pretending it suddenly isn't relevant because it doesn't support your preferred outcome is your denial, and funny how for all the shit they talk about the bonus not meaning anything they cling to the almost kiss, the one you know Azriel said was a mistake.
