You were still on Taehyung’s couch. This man really was super nice. Whenever he was around you felt sincerely happy for the first time in a while. Taehyung came back downstairs.
“Hey Y/N, I decided you might prefer sleeping in my bed since you know… you had a really rough day, and I really don’t mind sleeping on the couch…” He smiled at you.
“Nonono Taehyung, it’s okay, I don’t mind sleeping on the couch either. Anyways, I haven’t really slept properly in a long time so, I won’t be missing out on too much anyway, so you sleep in your bed.” Truth is that through the day you tended to pass out a lot due to the pills you took, and then during the night you were never sleepy. And if you really slept, you were plagued with terrible nightmares, so you supposed it was just best not to sleep.
“Are you crazy?! Under those circumstances, I really won’t let you sleep on the couch! Follow me!” Before you even had time to refuse, Taehyung grabbed your wrist and pulled you up the stairs, and over to his bedroom. He already put fresh sheets on his bed and placed some clothing for you to wear on the bed as well. It was a black t-shirt and some gray sweatpants. Since it was his clothing, it fits you a little bit oversized.
“Taehyung…you really are too kind…” You still felt incredibly guilty over all of this.
“Don’t worry about it, I’m glad that I can help you out somehow. I’ll leave you here to change real quick, afterward you could come join me in the kitchen and help me make dinner.~” He winked at you before leaving the room and closing the door. You changed into the clothes he left for you, and folded your wet clothes together and laid them aside. As soon as you finished changing you went downstairs to the kitchen.
You opened the door and were kind of surprised to see Taehyung standing by the counter, cutting some ingredients together. His back was facing you. You were used to your old boyfriend being too lazy to cook or not even interested in cooking. Taehyung was different in so many ways.
“Uhm… Hey, can I help you with something?” You timidly walked up on him.
He turned around and smiled at you. “Of course, could you finish cutting the garlic for me and also cut the tomatoes? In the meanwhile, I’ll prepare the spaghetti…”
“Okay…sure…” You went to the cutting board he pointed at.
“Great, thanks, Y/N you’re a great help!” He turned his attention to the stove.
You got the knife that was laying on the counter and started cutting the ingredients, in the meanwhile Taehyung was hectically dashing around the kitchen gathering all the items he needed. He grabbed the pot to cook the spaghetti in and dropped it about 3 times on the way to the stove. He got the pack of spaghetti off of the high shelf, but it slipped out of his hands and it fell onto his head, some of the spaghetti falling onto him and showering him in spaghetti. He filled the pot with water from the sink and put it to a boil, he then added the spaghetti and almost burned his fingers. He looked at you, and you at him.
“O-ouch…I’m sorry, I just don’t cook that often… haha…” You didn’t mind his clumsiness, you actually found it quite cute.
You had to giggle a little bit at his goofiness. “I can tell…”
He looked down out of embarrassment before facing you again. “Oh, Y/N, you have to cut the tomato a little bit smaller. Hold on, let me help you…” He stepped behind you and placed his hand on your hand which was holding the knife. He was standing really close to you, and that made you blush. Now that you had calmed down a bit, you noticed how handsome Taehyung was. You lifted your hand and looked at Taehyung. You could now see all the handsome details of his face, his perfectly shaped nose, his lips, his slender face shape, his brown glistening eyes, his soft brown hair. You found yourself staring at him. He was focusing on the cutting board and the tomatoes, but he noticed you staring at him and looked down at you. His smile was so warm and sincere, you would love seeing this smile every day of your life. He made you forget about all the bad things that were bothering you.
“Is everything okay?” He furrowed his fluffy brown eyebrows.
“Uh… Yeah… Yeah, I’m fine…” You felt a little bit dazed and looked back down at the cutting board.
“Okay, just tell me if anything is wrong, alright?” How could he be so concerned? He’s such a sweetie.
“Of course!” You continued cutting the ingredients, and in no time you two made a delicious meal. You two sat down by the little coffee table in Taehyung’s living room. His apartment was actually quite small, and he didn’t manage to fit a dining table in here.
“Enjoy your meal, Y/N!” At this point, you also finally realized how deep his voice actually was. How could you not notice it earlier?
“You too, Taehyung!” You both ate the spaghetti you prepared together, and afterward, you helped Taehyung clean the dishes.
“You really don’t have to help me clean the dishes, I can do it alone.” Taehyung was so humble and nice, you really doubted that people like him still existed.
“Nah, I really don’t mind helping!~” You felt as if you had to make up for something.
“Oh yeah, sorry that the spaghetti was…uhm..kind of…crispy..” Taehyung caused you two to giggle.
“It’s okay Taehyung.” You tried your best to give him a reassuring smile.
“You really are a nice person, has anyone ever told you that you’re really pretty too?” You blushed at Taehyung’s kind words.
“No… Not really…” Your cheeks flushed with color, and you were feeling really shy around him.
“Well, now someone did.” Taehyung winked at you, and you were sure that you were as red as the tomatoes you were cutting earlier.
“And you’re really cute when you blush.” Taehyung smiled, timidly looking away as well. Your heart was pounding really heavily and you felt as if you were about to just explode. You and Taehyung finished cleaning the dishes.
“It’s getting quite late and you need to rest, need me to bring you to bed?” Taehyung dried his hands with a paper towel.
“Oh..uhm…I can go myself…you don’t need to bring me…” You felt slightly taken aback by his suggestion.
“I’ll take that as a yes then!” He let out a hearty giggle and ran ahead towards the bedroom.
“Aish Taehyung….” You chuckled and went after him.
You entered the bedroom, and Taehyung was already standing there, leaning against the bed, waiting for you. You were kind of oblivious towards what he was aiming for, so you just stood in there looking at him.
“There you are, come on, I’ll tuck you in.” He had a quirky smirk on his face.
“Taehyung, that really isn’t necessary-” You giggled.
“Nope, don’t turn me down here okay, I’m just making sure that you’re all tucked in so you can rest well!” Taehyung grabbed your wrist and pulled you over to the bed. You hopped onto the bed and Taehyung covered you with the blankets. The last time someone tucked you in was when you were 4 years old, and already back then you’re parents weren’t the best. Taehyung was so gentle while tucking you in, it didn’t even surprise you too much. You enjoyed being treated so nicely from someone for a change since you were used to everyone treating you like a piece of shit.
“Okay, sleep well, I’ll be in the living room downstairs if you need me just call me, okay? Good Night!” He treated you as if you were the most precious thing in the world.
“Okay, good night!” You genuinely smiled at him.
Taehyung turned off the lights and left the room. His bed was really comfy and cozy, you fell asleep right away which was something new for you.
You woke up bathed in sweat and let out a scream. You once again had one of those terrible nightmares. You were panting and placed your hands over your face. It was 1 AM. You heard someone dash up the stairs.
Taehyung burst in the room. “Oh my god Y/N, I heard a scream, is everything okay?!”
“Yeah…yeah… I just had a nightmare…” You sighed.
Taehyung sat down next to you and stroked your back. You ran your hands through your hair.
“It’s all going to be okay, just go back to sleep, I’ll stay here and watch over you.” Taehyung kept on stroking your back, and you covered yourself in the blankets again. You closed your eyes and tried to fall back asleep. Taehyung laid down next to you and wrapped his arm around your waist. You felt safe, and his warm body next to yours made you fall asleep immediately.
You opened your eyes again. Some beams of sunlight were streaming into the room, hitting you in your face. You looked around the room. Taehyung wasn’t there anymore, even though you remembered him comforting you as you had your nightmare last night. You sat up and simply observed his bedroom. It was really simple and basic, but it still looked really beautiful with the sun hitting on it. Where was Taehyung though? You looked around and discovered a little note addressed to you.
“Dear Y/N,
Sorry, but I had to leave to work, I made you some pancakes for breakfast, they’re in the kitchen, here’s my number, call me if you need me [[Taehyung’s Phone Number]],
~Taehyung
P.S I left some clothes by the bed so you can change, and don’t worry about bringing them back, you can keep them ;)”
It was so sweet of him to leave you a little note. You stood up and changed into the clothes Tae left for you. It was a pair of his ripped jeans and a plain black t-shirt like before. You had to roll up the ends of the jeans a little bit since they were too long, but it still looked quite cute on you. You took the note with you since his number was on it, and went downstairs to the kitchen. On the way downstairs you made yourself a bun to hold your hair up. You grabbed the neatly arranged plate of pancakes and sat down at his dining table. Sure, it felt kind of weird to be in someone else’s house, but I mean, it would’ve been rude to simply decline his nice offer, so you decided to leave as soon as you finished the pancakes he made for you. Your purse was still on his couch, where you left it the other day. It was a messenger bag, which your parents gave you a long time ago for your birthday, and it meant a lot to you since it reminded you of better times. You began munching on the pancakes, and your thoughts drifted back to the nightmare you had yesterday.
Everything was dark around you, you could only recognize the walls surrounding you. You were walking around, in search of an exit, but none was to be found. It hit you, you were caught in a maze. Your pace built up, and now you were running through the maze. You hoped that you’d find a light, an exit, anything, but there was nothing, only the walls limiting you. After running for seemingly an eternity you broke down on the floor, falling onto your knees, panting, covering your face with your hands, desperate. As you looked up again, you saw a bright light shining out of what seemed like a slightly open door. You stood up and immediately ran towards it. You opened the door and your eyes were blinded for a second due to the extreme change of brightness. You entered the room and used your hands to cover your eyes for a second so they could get used to the brightness. After your eyes adjusted to the brightness you looked around the room. The door out of which you just came wasn’t there anymore. You slowly paced around the room, until you heard sobbing from behind your back. You turned around and saw your sister weeping on the floor, her long dark hair covering her face. You ran to her and held her in your arms, unsure of what to say. She snapped at you and pushed your hands away.
“Don’t touch me! Don’t help me! I don’t want your help! You put me in this situation! You didn’t help me at all! YOU….You should have jumped off that bridge. This world would be better off without YOU.” She faced the floor once more and continued sobbing.
“W-what are you talking about…?…” Tears started rolling down your cheek.
Your sister didn’t respond. The sound of her sobbing broke your heart. You called her name, and she snapped at you once more.
“Leave me! Leave us all! We don’t need you. No one needs YOU.” You couldn’t remember the last time you saw her this angry.
You looked down at the floor, tears now fully covering your face. As you looked up again, your sister was gone, and you were left alone once more.
That’s when you woke up again. You had nightmares like that far too often. You just tried getting rid of those thoughts and quickly finished the pancakes. You got your bag and exited Taehyungs apartment. You looked at the note you took with you. Was it really a good idea to stay in contact with him? What if you hurt him, by accident or not? What if you really end up dying, and then you’d have to leave him. You didn’t want for him to get too close to you because you didn’t want to be another person he loved who’d leave him. He was too good for you anyway. You ripped the note apart, and let the broken note fall to the ground. You left, not even daring to look back and called a taxi.
“Hello, my name’s Suho, I’ll be your Taxi Driver today. Where can I bring you, beautiful Lady?” The quirky man seemed far too happy considering what his job is, but at least he seemed nice. You gave the man the address to your apartment.
Meanwhile, Taehyung was at work… (His P.O.V)
You cleaned the bar with a piece of cloth. You were supposed to work yesterday evening, but since you were busy taking care of this girl, Y/N, you skipped work. How was she doing? Did she recover from her nightmare? You thought back to it, and well, was it wrong to take advantage of her? I mean, not that you did anything bad, you simply cuddled up with her, but I mean, if she wouldn’t have been in that state you wouldn’t have done that. You were lost in your thoughts until the voice of your boss brought you back to reality.
“Kim Taehyung, where were you yesterday?” He sounded relatively angry.
“Sorry Boss, something came in between…” You didn’t feel comfortable with telling the whole story. It was none of his business anyway.
“Taehyung… You’re a good employee, look, I won’t fire you or anything, but I want for you to give your best at your performance today, or else I might reconsider…” This sounded slightly like a threat, but you knew that your performances always managed to convince him.
“Okay Boss, thank you for giving me another chance.” You were relieved.
“No problem, but seriously, you can leave, the bar’s already clean enough. See you tonight!” Your boss really is a nice guy. You knew he wouldn’t fire you.
“See you tonight Boss!” You grabbed your jacket and left. On your way out, you ran into your coworker, Jimin.
“Hey, Taehyung!” Jimin pulled you into a hug, with the same smile as always spread across his face.
“Hey Jimin! How’s it going?” You felt genuinely happy to see him again.
“Good, how ‘bout you? You weren’t at work yesterday, is everything okay?” Jimin always cared about you so much, what a great friend.
“Yeah, everything’s fine, just had something to do yesterday…” You really couldn’t get this girl out of your head.
“Oh. Well, you should have seen my performance yesterday. The girls lost their shit yesterday.” Jimin giggled.
“Jimin, they always do.” You two shared a playful chuckle. After you had a nice conversation, you two split ways.
You arrived at your apartment. No sign of Y/N. You sighed and sat down in your kitchen, serving yourself a cup of coffee, since you didn’t sleep too well last night. Little did Y/N know, but ever since you lost your siblings, you’ve been plagued with terrible nightmares. You have dreamed the same thing for the last few days. In your dream, you roamed a dark room, in search for something, anything, and then out of nowhere, something or someone would start hitting you. You broke down on the floor, and then seemingly out of nowhere a little puppy would appear. It reminded you of the little puppy you used to have as you were younger. And then a big cage would come down on you, and the puppy would leave. That nightmare would repeat every single night, and it started stealing your sleep. Last night you were awake because of your nightmare, which is why you heard Y/N scream and could be there so quickly. It was a miracle she didn’t suspect anything. You wondered where she might be right now, but you simply hoped that she’d call you as soon as possible.
