He picked up his younger self up and nuzzles his cheek. “I’m good! What are you getting for Christmas?”

“Morning, little me!”

“I won’t. I promise. I go where you go.” He didn’t like it when Sora cried. Sora should never cry. It always made him feel upset and angry at the person who made him cry. But feeling mad towards his Auntie didn’t feel right either. So he wrapped his arms around Sora tightly and gave him the best hug he could muster. “We’ll tell my mum, and she can help your mama and you can live in my house instead.”

Sora cried into his shoulder for a little while, clinging to his shirt. Though this time it felt a bit more like a weight is finally off his chest. Like things were finally looking up, that his future was brighter. And once again, Riku was the one to bring that feeling. Sora loved his best friend so much, and he hoped with everything he had that they’d stay together forever. He can’t imagine his life without the silverette. 

“Okay. So you don’t have to go back.” Riku nodded his head, taking both of Sora’s hands. “I’ll get your stuff and you wait outside and then you can come and stay with me. Like a forever sleep over. Mum and dad don’t care if you come over anyways so they won’t even notice. We’ll hide you at my house.”
